POLAND TAKES FIRST BATTLE OF 224

POLAND OH- The Poland Bulldogs and Canfield Cardinals met in the first week of the season to open up the battle of 224. This was Poland’s first game of 2020, and was Canfield’s second after a loss to Struthers on Tuesday.

Canfield came out strong in the first half with a lead throughout the majority of the first half. Canfield and Poland went to the locker room in a 4 point game, with Canfield up 30-26 at the half.

Poland started off the second half with a 7-0 run, but Canfield was able to battle back and take the lead 47-45, heading into the final quarter. In the final 8 minutes, Poland outscored Canfield 16-9, and won the first of three matchups in 2020. Poland won by a final score of 61-56, with Christian Colosimo leading the way with 13 points. Ross Dedo was right behind Colosimo with 10. Canfield was led by Trey Dye, who had a solid 19 points.

Poland is slated to take on the Boardman Spartans next Tuesday at home. Canfield will also play Tuesday at home, as they host South Range.
