RAIDERS COMEBACK FALLS SHORT OF STATE TICKET
MASSILLON, OH- Saturday’s game against Canton Central Catholic was a heartbreaker for South Range Raiders, as they lost the lead late in a 6-4 defeat. The game was tied at four with Canton Central Catholic batting in the bottom of the sixth when an error scored one run for Canton Central Catholic.
South Range lost despite out-hitting Canton Central Catholic seven to six.
Johnson was the winning pitcher for Canton Central Catholic. The bulldog surrendered two runs on two hits over two and two-thirds innings, striking out two.
Garrett Sheets took the loss for South Range. Sheets went one and two-thirds innings, allowing three runs on three hits, striking out one and walking zero.
Billy Skripac started the game for South Range. The pitcher allowed three hits and three runs over four and a third innings, striking out seven Harris started the game for Canton Central Catholic. Harris lasted four and a third innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out five
South Range smacked one home run on the day when Trey Pancake went yard in the sixth inning.
Pancake, Mikie Perry, Stevie Rohan, Brandon Mikos, Michael Markulin, Corey Penick, and Aidan English all had one hit to lead the Raiders.
Baum went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Canton Central Catholic in hits.
