RAIDERS GET THE BEST OF GIRARD

Girard watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 15-2 loss to South Range on Thursday. South Range scored on a single by Bree Kohler, a single by Juli Stachowicz, and a home run by Samantha Susany in the first inning.

The Indians struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing South Range, giving up 15 runs.

In the first inning, the Raiders got their offense started. Kohler drove in one when she singled.

South Range scored 11 runs in the second inning. Bortles, Stachowicz, Kelly Szolek, Jillian Strecanksy, Susany, and Madison Dado all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

Kohler earned the victory on the rubber for the Raiders. The bulldog allowed four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out nine and walking zero.

Emily Rosace took the loss for Girard. The righty allowed 14 hits and 15 runs over two innings, walking zero.

South Range smacked two home runs on the day. Susany had a long ball in the first inning. Kohler went deep in the second inning.

Seyhan Dede, Sophie Griffith, Rosace, and Kaitlyn Culver each collected one hit to lead Girard.

South Range collected 16 hits. Reagan Irons, Kohler, Bortles, Jamie Feren, and Susany all managed multiple hits.
