RANGE REBOUNDS AGAINST SPARTANS

CANFIELD, OH- South Range Raiders sailed to a comfortable 6-1 victory over Boardman on Tuesday.

The Raiders wasted no time, jumping ahead in the bottom of the first inning. Tyler Wardle led the offense off with a double to set the tone, followed by  Brennen Klasovsky cracking a double that brought two runners home, while Jake Shumate and Dylan Smesko each added singles that knocked in a run apiece, pushing the score to 4-0 early on.

They didn’t let up, adding another run in the second inning when Tyson Tarajack blasted an in the park home run on an 0-2 pitch, demonstrating their ability to capitalize on critical counts, and showcasing his speed and power combination.

On the mound, senior Konnor Brogan was in fine form, securing the win for South Range by holding Boardman to just one run on six hits across a complete seven innings, racking up seven strikeouts without issuing a walk.

Boardman’s Dylan Barrett, despite a gritty effort, took the loss after giving up six runs (three earned) over five innings. He managed to strike out four but struggled to contain the Raiders’ hitters.

At the plate, Klasovsky was pivotal for South Range, driving in two runs. Smesko and Tarajack weren’t far behind, each bagging two hits to help build the Raiders’ lead.

For Boardman, Grayson Eicher put up a solid effort with two hits in three at-bats, but the team couldn’t rally enough support to close the gap.

South Range looks to carry this momentum into their next matchup against Struthers on Wednesday, aiming to replicate today’s strong performance.  Boardman will begin a pivotal series with Canfield.
