RANGE ROLLS OVER LADY DRAGONS

CANFIELD, OH- South Range defeated Niles 21-0 on Tuesday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jayli Wilt struck out Wilson to finish off the game as part of a 6-straight strikeout fest for the Raider hurler.

Juli Stachowicz led South Range to victory by driving in four runs. Stachowicz went 3-for-4 at the plate. Stachowicz drove in runs on three triples.

South Range Varsity Raiders got things moving in the first inning. Samantha Susany doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring two runs.

One bright spot for Niles was a single by Barrell in the first inning.

Susany earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for the Raiders. Susany lasted three innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out eight and walking one. Wilt threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Beck was on the rubber for the Lady Dragons. The pitcher allowed 19 hits and 21 runs over four innings.

South Range racked up 19 hits on the day. Kelly Szolek, Stachowicz, Susany, Anna Aey, and Keira Brogan all collected multiple hits for South Range. Susany, Stachowicz, and Szolek each managed three hits to lead the Raiders. South Range didn’t commit a single error in the field. Szolek had the most chances in the field with 15.

Barrell led McKinley with one hit in two at-bats.

South Range was rained out on Wednesday against Lakeview, and will now travel to Myrtle Beach for a six-game set down south.  All games will be broadcasted on YSN.
