SPRINGFIELD BATS HEAT UP WITH THE TEMPS

NORTH JACKSON, OH- Parker Dobson was on fire from the mound, racking up 10 strikeouts and propelling the Springfield Tigers past Jackson-Milton Local with a 9-4 victory on Monday. Over six innings, Dobson gave up five hits and four runs but kept his composure, not allowing a single walk.

At the plate, Blake Jeffries was a hitting machine, going 4-for-5 with a lineup of hits that included a triple in the sixth, a double in the first, and singles in the third and seventh innings.

The Tigers started lighting up the scoreboard in the third inning, thanks to a string of hits. Kolten Ruark kicked things off with a single, Alec Fusco grounded out but notched an RBI, and Jackson Ensley followed with another run-scoring single.

On the other side, James Croyle was handed the loss for Jackson-Milton Local after a tough outing where he surrendered six runs (four earned) on 10 hits across six innings, managing six strikeouts.

Jeffries also turned in a stellar performance in relief for Springfield, tossing a hitless, shutout inning and adding two strikeouts to the tally.

Overall, Springfield tallied 12 hits. Ruark was particularly clutch, driving in two runs, while Fusco and Dobson each had a multi-hit day. Jeffries showcased his speed, swiping three bases as part of Springfield’s total of four for the game.

For Jackson-Milton Local, Nate Craver made his presence felt by driving in two runs, while Jack McDevitt led his team at the plate, going 2-for-3.

The Tigers are set to host Jackson-Milton Local again on Tuesday.
