EAGLES BOW OUT OF REGIONALS AGAINST RICHMOND HEIGHTS

CANTON OH- Warren JFK watched their run in the tournament end on Tuesday night with a 60-47 loss to Richmond Heights.

The Eagles kept the game competitive in the first half, trailing by just five at the break. Out of the locker room the Spartans quickly jumped further ahead, pushing their lead to 40-23. The Eagles went over four minutes without a basket to open the second half. It all but doomed their chances against a very talented Spartans team.

Gabe Green led the Eagles with 19 points while Cam Hollobaugh added 14.

The Eagles end their season at 12-14.

EAGLES UPSET BRISTOL EN ROUTE TO TITLE

ORWELL OH- Warren JFK earned their first trip to regionals since 2017 on Friday night with a 61-47 win over top seeded Bristol.

The Eagles flew out of the gates to a 22-2 lead at the end of frame one. They extended that lead to 35-10 with just over 2:00 left in the half. Bristol ended the half on a 11-0 run to close the gap to 35-21.

The Bristol rally didn’t end at half, they opened the third quarter on a 8-0 run to cut the lead to 35-29. It was a 19-0 run spanning two quarters. It seemed the tides had turned. Finally the Eagles stabilized and put together a 8-0 run to stretch their lead back to 43-31, and leading 43-33 after three. The closest the Eagles would let Bristol get in the fourth would be seven.

Cam Hollobaugh led the charge with a game-High 24. Sejjan Cuoto was also in double figures with 12.

The Eagles advance to the regional semifinals on Tuesday against Richmond Heights at the Canton Fieldhouse. Start time is set for 6:15.

YES, HE CAM!

WARREN, OH- You’re familiar with the term “Jack of all trades, master of none?”  Well, imagine if you had an individual who was so team-oriented that he would give up his favorite position in order to suit the team, and help win games.  All the while becoming a “Jack of most trades, master of all.”

Let us introduce you to the Kennedy Swiss Army Knife- Cam Hollobaugh.

Just a junior, Hollobaugh’s student-athlete portfolio is so diversified that people literally see him everywhere they go.  From the school news network (WJFK) to posters, commercials, media interviews, basketball court, baseball diamond, and of course…the football field.  Hollobaugh is preparing himself for anything life can throw at him, but right now he’s having the time of his life with his closest friends, and coaches- chasing a D7 State Championship.

He leaves everyone around him saying he can do anything he puts his mind to, and coincidentally, he does it at a high level.

We caught up with the ol’ 9’er in this week’s Warren JFK Player Profile: YES HE CAM!
