HEARTLAND CHRISTIAN BOYS BASKETBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 2) WITH JOSH SCOTT

COLUMBIANA OH- Heartland Christian got their season off to an amazing start. They won their first four games of the season with an offense that seems nearly unstoppable. Every one of their first four games they have scored 69 points or more. Their defense has played well too, making these games runaways. The Lions did lose a heartbreaker to Jackson Milton at the buzzer to move to 4-1.

Head coach Josh Scott took the time to join YSN’s Running Point to give us a inside look on the Lion’s hot start. He talks with Ty Bartell, and Anthony Hartwig about his offense, what the team’s mindset has been, and much more. Episode 2 of coach’s corner with Josh Scott is live.

URSULINE FOOTBALL COACH’S CORNER (STATE CHAMPIONSHIP PREVIEW) WITH DAN REARDON

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – The Ursuline Fighting Irish are back in the state championship game this season as head coach Dan Reardon has the boys playing their best football of the season! The Irish have battled their way through the playoffs including a 34-17 victory over Port Clinton in the state semi finals last week. Ursuline will take on Clarksville. Clinton-Massie in the championship game that will take place on Friday, December 3rd at 10:30am at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio!

YSN’s own, Steve Leslie, had the opportunity to talk to Coach Reardon this week via video chat to discuss the impressive display of football in the state semi finals last week, what the Irish need to do to take care of business against Clinton-Massie, what some keys to the game this week will be as Ursuline will look to bring the championship trophy back home to Youngstown, and so much more!

With a ton of height in the front court, and skill in the back court the Braves will be a tough cookie to crack. Badger will open the season Tuesday November 30th at home against East Palestine.

URSULINE COACH’S CORNER (EP 3) WITH DAN REARDON

YOUNGSTOWN, OH – It is no secret to anyone in the Youngstown area, the Ursuline football team is always one of the most storied teams in the Mahoning Valley and nobody knows that better than head coach Dan Reardon. This week, his Ursuline Fighting Irish squad will take the field in Euclid, looking to rewrite history in the state semifinals.

YSN’s own “Coach”, Steve Leslie, had the opportunity to chat with Coach Reardon this week to talk about Week 15 and what his mindset is going into this elite match up, but also what Ursuline needs to do to show thanks for all that has been over the last few seasons, and any insight Coach might have for us involving the playoffs and how he thinks the Irish might line up against Port Clinton.

NEW MIDDLETOWN, OH – The Springfield Tigers are headed back to the state semi finals! Coach, Mark Brungard has been able to be the offensive coordinator for a Tigers team that is playing incredible football and firing on all cylinders offensively. Last week, Springfield defeated Mogadore while putting up 43 points. This week, the Tigers will travel to Euclid this Saturday night, to take on Carey with a berth in the state championship game on the line.

YSN’s own, Steve Leslie, was able to catch up with Coach Brungard this week at Springfield to discuss the his career both coaching and playing, what it has been like to be able to coach his sons, Brady and Beau, what Coach is thankful for in his life, what he thinks the Tigers need to do to take care of business and advance to the state championship game, and so much more!

HOWLAND OH- The Howland lady Tigers are a proud basketball team. They have tons of tournament experience and success in years past. Returning a good core of seniors, and plenty of size the Tigers will be a monster to deal with this year. In an AAC that seems wide open for the taking, the Tigers are going to try and make their move. It will be tough, but the Tigers will have their claws sharpened by a hard schedule.

A successful season isn’t just a goal, it’s an expectation. 2021 is no different, with the Tigers returning a core group of leaders they will be a tough team to beat. GIRARD GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH ANDREW SAXON

GIRARD OH- It’s officially basketball season in Girard, and the girls program is ready to take the next step. They return a ton of leadership, much of which is coming off an extremely successful volleyball season. The Indians are hoping that success breeds succeeds. With a NE8 that is primed for a new contender, Girard is in a position to make some moves.
