RHODES NAMED 2023 FRESHMAN OF THE YEAR

COLUMBIANA OH- Every season we see an athlete come in out of their junior high program and make an immediate impact on the varsity level. It’s not easy to make that jump so quickly. We have always wanted to make sure we highlight the players that are able to do it.  This season the girls spotlight Crestview featured one of the best freshman we’ve seen in quite a while. Addison Rhodes hit the ground running and dominated her opponents all season long.

She made a name for herself right away in Crestview’s first game of the season. The Rebels opened against a Badger team that would go on to a district championship game, but that didn’t stop Rhodes from going off for 33 points on them.  She continued her stretch of scoring all season long averaging over 19 per game.  Rhodes came close to averaging a double double with 8.3 rebounds per contest.  Addison was also an efficient shooter, making 43 percent of her field goals.

Everyone at YSN would like to congratulate Addison on a fantastic season.  It is our honor to announce that she has been named to 2023 YSN Freshman of the Year.

CRESTVIEW GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH AARON BLATCH

COLUMBIANA OH- Crestview has been one of the premiere programs in the YSN family this season.  Their young roster has taken the area by storm.  After getting an MVAC championship now they can confidently say that a district championship is in their grasp.  They got to this point by battling back from being down by 10 after one quarter against Lake Catholic.  Now they will sharpen their tools for a couple days too in preparation to take on top seeded Laurel.  The task will be difficult, but that won’t deter the Rebels from being themselves and bringing scissors to the party to cut down some nets.

Aaron Blatch was able to take the time to talk to YSN’s Anthony Hartwig about their semifinal win, what it will take to upset Laurel, and so much more. Rebels fans you don’t want to miss this latest episode of Coach’s Corner with Aaron Blatch only on YSN.
