YOU KNOW DRU CAN DO IT ALL

BELOIT OH- One of the most highly anticipated players to watch coming in to the 2022 season is West Branch quarterback Dru DeShields.  It’s crazy to think that while knowing at the beginning of last season, it was unknown to the public how Dru would handle the varsity starting role. He has such an incredible 2021 season that he has went from question mark to exclamation point in the blink of an eye.

Dru is not the guy to buy into outside pressure. He hasn’t heard the noise that success has brought him. That is an incredible sign of maturity. It is easy to let success weigh as pressure on the shoulders, but the only pressure Dru feels is being the best teammate he can be. He has definitely had to prove his worth as a leader this off-season. He has built relationships with a bunch of new receivers to keep this Warriors offense running on all cylinders.  He’ll never read the headlines, or listen to the media clips, but that doesn’t mean you should ignore the hype. Dru is making a ton of noise, and you have to listen!

Dru was able to come on to YSN’s Running Point this week to talk about his senior season under center. He talks with Richie Juliano and Anthony Hartwig about the lessons he had learned coming up, building an unbreakable bond with his team, and much more. Check out the latest West Branch Player Profile only on YSN.

JUST HOW THEY DRU IT UP

BELOIT OH- West Branch has quickly become one of the most feared offenses in the area. In fact, according to yippo sports, West Branch’s 49.7 points per game ranks at the top of the state of Ohio. A massive reason for the Warriors prolific success is the play of new quarterback Dru DeShields. DeShields has been a quarterback his whole life, but last season, he moved to wide receiver to help Brock Hillyer do his thing under center. Now, it’s Dru’s ball to command, and boy oh boy has he taken it with stride. DeShields has inserted himself into the conversation of “best quarterbacks in the area.” West Branch comes in to Week 8 with an undefeated record, and will try to keep it perfect on the road at Alliance.

Dru won Week 4 of Baird Brothers Big Dogs of the Valley. The West Branch community has stepped up and madd it back to back weeks with West Branch football players at the top. Dru took the time to come on to YSN’s Running Point to talk about his season. He chats with Anthony Hartwig, and Ty Bartell about his development as a player, the biggest reasons for his success, and much more. Don’t miss out on the latest West Branch Football player profile “Just How They Dru It Up.”
