CRESTVIEW FINDS A WAY IN OVERTIME

COLUMBIANA OH- The Crestview Rebels decided to play a little extra and won a hard fought contest in overtime against Campbell 65-62.

Kirtland Miller led the Rebels in scoring with 19 points. Jack Yerkey and Drake Golden both scored 16 points.

The 3-3 Rebels will host Lisbon next Tuesday. That game will be on YSN.

STRUTHERS CONTINUES TO IMPRESS

CANFIELD, OH- The South Range boys hosted Struthers Tuesday night where it was

senior night for South Range. The Wildcats were able to get a strong victory over the

Raiders with a dominant win, 58-33. In the first few minutes, the game started fast, with

both teams getting early chances. Led by Brandon Washington, the Wildcats were able

to gain control and keep it going into the half. In the 2nd half, the Raiders continued to fight

back, but were unsuccessful in the end.

 

For the Raiders, Mike Patrone led the way with 15 points, behind him was Eli Taylor

with 5 on the night. For the Wildcats, Washington led the way with 19 points off of three

3s on the night. Behind him was Aidan Slocum, who ended the night off with 13 points.

The Wildcats will travel on December 28th to take on Perry. The Raiders will be back on

December 22nd to host Springfield. Don’t miss it on YSN

LISBON KEEPS UP THEIR WINNING WAYS

LEETONIA OH- Leetonia hosted Lisbon at home on Tuesday. Lisbon would start off strong as Blayne Brownfield and Ryan Mccullogh would be the duo Lisbon needed to take a 20 point lead into halftime 32-12

Lisbon freshman Trevor Siefke would come out of halftime and add to a 23 point quater from the Blue Devils by making four of his five 3-pointers. Lisbon would carry the momentum into the fourth and finish the game 64-30. Mccullogh would finish with 16, Brownfield with 18, and Siefke with 15. Leetonia’s leading scorer was Ian Davis and Joe Guido both with 8 points.

CARDINAL MOONEY BASKETBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH CAREY PALERMO

YOUNGSTOWN OH- Mooney boys basketball is off to a tremendous start to the season. After a comeback win over South Range on Saturday, the Cardinals are 3-0. They have a great discussion about the development of basketball in the area and what the tournaments may look like this season. STRUTHERS BASKETBALL COACH’S CORNER (EP 1) WITH MIKE WERNICKI

STRUTHERS OH- Expectations are high and the future is bright in Struthers for their boys basketball program. Returning a big chuck of last year’s district runner up squad has left a lot of reason for optimism. That being said, the NE8 is still a tough conference. Wildcats head coach Mike Wernicki looks to lead Struthers to another successful season.

BROWNFIELD’S BIG NIGHT LIFTS LISBON TO VICTORY

LISBON OH- Lisbon Senior Blayne Brownfield is no stranger to scoring a lot of points. Saturday night was still special, as Brownfield went off to collect a career high 37 points to lead Lisbon to a 73-64 win over Beaver Local.

Brownfield was good from the perimeter, knocking down five threes, but he also was locked in from the line going 8 for 8. Ryan McCullough also put together a stellar night putting up 23 points.

Beaver Local was led by Skylar Pappas who finished with 27, including 7 buckets from beyond the arc. Nathan Barber was also in double figures adding 16.

Lisbon travels to Leetonia on Tuesday to venture into EOAC play.

QUAKERS DELAY AVIATORS FLIGHTPLAN

ALLIANCE OH- The Salem boys hoops team outscored Alliance in the 2nd quarter 26-3 to help send the Quakers to their 3rd victory of the season beating Alliance 64-46.

The 3-1 Quakers had huge scoring efforts from Jon Null with 20 points, Hunter Griffith with 16 and Drew Weir added 15 points. Next up for Salem is a trip to Marlington on Tuesday night.

BEAVERS STAY STRONG AT HOME

BEAVER OH- Down 33-26 going into the 4th quarter the Beaver Local Beavers pulled out a gut wrenching 40-39 win over the visiting Redskins of Indian Creek. The Beavers out scored the Redskins 14-6 in the final frame.

Beaver Local was paced by Nathan Barber with 14 points and Sky Pappas chipped in with 9 points. Isaiah Vanding  led Indian Creek with 17 points.

Beaver Local travels to Lisbon Saturday night to take on the Blue Devils.

LIONS SHOW THEIR TEETH IN BLOWOUT OF CAMPBELL

COLUMBIANA OH- Going In to Friday night’s matchup between Heartland, and Campbell you knew both offenses were capable of some fireworks. But it was Heartland that would put on a show. Exploding for 42 2nd half points Heartland Christian defeated Campbell Memorial 71-47.

The 3-1 Lions placed 9 players in the scoring  column led by a 15 point performance by Steven Baker. Campbell 0-3 was led by Skevos Kouros with 9 points.

 

REBELS GAIN QUICK CONTROL OVER UNITED

COLUMBIANA OH- It was an old TCL rivalry renewed on Friday night as Crestview hosted United. It was the Rebels however who controlled the game from the tip.

Kirkland Miller scored 21 points and Drake Golden added 15 points to lead the Crestview Rebels to a 62-44 victory over the visiting United Eagles. Taking a 33-20 into the 2nd half the Rebels grounded out the win. Uniteds Keaton Baker led his team with 11 points.

Crestview moves to 2-2, but they have no time to rest as they will host Springfield on Saturday. United will return home to host Southern on Saturday.
