East Ashtabula, OH- In a highly anticipated matchup that showcased the prowess of the Edgewood Warriors, the girls’ basketball team triumphed over the Madison Blue Streaks with a final score of 61-50. The game unfolded with intensity across all four quarters, keeping fans on the edge of their seats. The battle to stay perfect and take first place in the CVC Lake division was one for the ages.

HERALDS BOUNCE BACK IN WIN OVER CHALKER

Ashtabula, OH- Fully healthy and looking to recover from a loss to the Cardinal Huskies, the St. John Heralds showcased their prowess as they dominated the Chalker Wildcats in a game that ended with a resounding 54-20 victory. The Heralds’ stellar performance was evident in every quarter, with consistent scoring and an unyielding defense.

  • First Quarter: St. John came out strong, establishing an early lead with 14 points, while Chalker struggled to keep up, posting only 7 points.
  • Second Quarter: The Heralds continued their offensive momentum, adding 17 more points to their tally, while Chalker faced difficulties, managing only 5 points.
  • Third Quarter: St. John maintained their dominance with another 12 points, widening the gap. Chalker’s struggle persisted, contributing only 5 points.

EAGLES TURN UP THE THROTTLE IN THE SECOND HALF

HANOVERTON OH- In a clash of two formidable teams each boasting seven wins, Warren JFK showcased a commanding offensive display in the second half to overpower United with an 85-49 triumph. The game held high stakes as both squads were evenly matched with seven victories apiece entering the contest.

The first half set the stage for an intense battle, with JFK holding a 39-30 lead at halftime. However, it was the explosive offensive surge in the second half that truly defined the game.

Leading the charge for Warren JFK were standout performances from multiple players. Ava Darney led the scoring onslaught with an impressive 22 points, while Didi Ryan contributed 18 points. Gianna Pompelia added 11 points to the tally, with Hannah Myers and Maria Saunders chipping in 10 and 9 points, respectively.

On the opposing side, United fought valiantly with Grace Knight leading the charge, amassing 21 points. Addy Blazer and Sam Lippiatt contributed 8 and 6 points, respectively, while Camryn Cody matched Lippiatt’s 6-point contribution.

The victory propels Warren JFK to an 8-2 record, setting the stage for an exciting upcoming matchup against Southeast at home on January 4th. POLAND GIRLS BASKETBALL COACH (EP 7) WITH NICK BLANCH

POLAND OH- It is officially tournament time in Poland for the girls basketball program. The Lady Bulldogs finished the regular season by falling to South Range in the team’s second matchup of the year. Splitting with the Raiders secured that both teams would share the top spot in the NE8. It snapped Poland’s 40 game winning streak inside the NE8. Poland then moved on to tournaments where they won their opening game against Jefferson 53-35. Poland will now play West Geauga in the district semifinals on Wednesday.

LEOPARDS CLAW AWAY CRESTVIEW

The Liberty Lady Leopards rolled into Crestview and took home a 65-51 victory over the Lady Rebels.

Four Leopards scored in double-figures with Demi Watson leading the way 22 points.Cianna Smith added 17 points Aaliyah Foster scored 14 points and Allyson Jones had 10 points for Liberty.

For the Lady Rebels was  a 18 point effort by Krista Perry  and Mara Halas dropped in 12 points.Next up for 7-4 Crestview is a away contest against Newton Falls on Wednesday.
