HOPE AND GLORY

South Range Senior, Hope Thomas, has seen the highs and lows for this Raider team.  From being in the State Finals as a Sophomore, to a disappointing finish just a year ago in the District Semis.  Through the entirety of this roller coaster that she’s been on, she’s been everything that this team has needed, and she is aptly named for what she brings to the team, and what she has for the future of the Raider program!

This week’s Raider Player Profile- HOPE AND GLORY.

BE LIKE MIKE

As a teenager, there are influences everywhere.  Some good, some bad, and some neutral.  Every now and again there comes an influential person whose demeanor, and leadership can be felt as soon as they walk in a room.  Leaders like Jim Tressel, Tom Brady, LeBron James, and Derek Jeter all make an impact and influence on and off the field.

Add South Range’s Mike Cunningham to that list.

The Raider Senior holds down the corner infield spot for his squad, as well as produces on the mound.  Cunningham is a multi-sport student athlete that gets it done on the field, the court, and in the classroom!  So much so that he leaves everybody wanting to ‘Be Like Mike.’

This week’s Raider Player Profile is South Range Senior: Mike Cunningham.

EVERYTHING IS BETTER WITH HD

Catching is an art.  One that doesn’t come with much glory, or jubilation.  However, like the quarterback in football, it’s the position that coaches and managers put the most stock into at the upper echelon of leagues and teams.

Communication is key for a catcher, and they have to always be thinking two pitches ahead.  Understanding that they’re the last line of defense between a win and a loss.

For South Range standout, Hanna Dennison, she’s made a living being the defender of the dish.  One of the top backstops in Northeast Ohio hasn’t come without putting in the work, though.  Between travel-ball, school work and having a social-life, Hanna continues to reap what she has sewed.

Good news for her coaches and teammates, though.  Just like with television: Everything is Better with HD!
