OGDEN BLASTS THREE BOMBS IN IRISH DISMANTLING OF CHARDON

WELLINGTON OH-  Paige Ogden gave Chardon fits, as she bagged four hits in Ursuline’s 14-3 victory on Saturday. Ogden homered in the first, homered in the third, singled in the fourth, and homered in the sixth.

Ursuline got things started in the first inning. Ogden homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

The Irish notched seven runs in the sixth inning. Their big bats were led by Ogden, Savannah Patrone, Liza Barbato, Kyleigh Golden, and Ari Wendt, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Mia Opalick was credited with the victory for the Irish. The pitcher allowed five hits and two runs over five innings, striking out one. Barbato threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Amy O’Brien took the loss for Chardon. The pitcher lasted six innings, allowing 22 hits and 14 runs while striking out one.

Ursuline launched three home run on the day. Ogden went for the long ball in the first, third, and sixth innings.

Ursuline saw the ball well today, racking up 22 hits in the game. Ogden, Madelyn Miklandric, Barbato, Alyssa Sheely, Layni Bednar, Patrone, and Golden each had multiple hits. Ogden went 4-for-4 at the plate to lead in hits. The Irish didn’t commit a single error in the field. Barbato had the most chances in the field with four.

Madison Zombory led Chardon with two hits in three at bats. Chardon didn’t commit a single error in the field. Grace Legan had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.

URSULINE TAKES THE STING OUT OF THE JACKETS

WELLINGTON OH-  Even though Ursuline gave up three runs in the third inning, they still defeated Perrysburg 6-5 on Saturday. The Yellow Jackets scored their runs on a home run by Ella Leonard.

The Yellow Jackets got things moving in the first inning. Jessica Miller’s sac fly scored one run.

In the bottom of the first inning, Ursuline tied things up at one when Paige Ogden’s sac fly scored one run.

The Irish pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third an error scored one run, and Madelyn Miklandric doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring three runs.

Ogden was credited with the victory for Ursuline. The righty went six and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out nine. Liza Barbato threw one-third of an inning in relief out of the bullpen. Barbato recorded the last out to earn the save.

Maison Gerrard took the loss for the Yellow Jackets. The righthander allowed six hits and six runs over six innings, striking out three and walking one.

The Irish hit one home run on the day. Mia Opalick went for the long ball in the fifth inning.

Alyssa Sheely went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Ursuline in hits. Ursuline didn’t commit a single error in the field. Miklandric had eight chances in the field, the most on the team.

The Yellow Jackets scattered six hits in the game. Cassie Plummer and Miller all had multiple hits.

KENNEDY FIRING ON ALL ENGINES; DISPATCH IRISH

NILES, OH- Warren JFK had everything working again on Saturday, winning big over Ursuline, 9-2

Kennedy fired up the offense in the first inning. Gavin Shrum tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.  The Eagles then scored three runs in the third inning as the offense in the inning came from a walk by Caleb Hadley, a single by Jaden Rishel, and a sac fly by Jake Hettrick.

Hettrick took the win for JFK. The righty lasted five innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out seven. Michael Bartoe threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Tommy Groner took the loss for the Irish. The crafty righty went three and a third innings, allowing five runs on six hits and striking out two.

The Kennedy offense racked up 13 hits. Shrum, Aidan Rossi, Hadley, Alex DeSalvo, and Rishel each racked up multiple hits as a team. Shrum led the Eagles with three hits in three at-bats.

Luca Ricchiuti went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Ursuline in hits.

URSULINE KICKS OFF TOUGH WEEKEND WITH A WIN

STRUTHERS OH- LaBrae scored three runs in the fourth inning, but Ursuline still won 5-3 on Friday. The offensive firepower by LaBrae was led by Riley Davidson and Brogan Collins, all knocking in runs in the inning.

Ursuline opened up scoring in the first inning. Brady Shannon singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

The Irish pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Andrew Kirila singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run and Tom Groner singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run.

Danny Smith took the win for Ursuline. The righty allowed three hits and three runs over six innings, striking out three. Jaxson Gruber threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen. Gruber recorded the last three outs to earn the save.

Jordan McCartney took the loss for LaBrae. The hurler allowed eight hits and three runs over two and two-thirds innings.

Ursuline racked up 12 hits on the day. Groner, Luca Ricchiuti, and Kirila all collected multiple hits. Ricchiuti and Groner each collected three hits to lead.

LaBrae was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Ashton Dunbar had the most chances in the field with six.

IRISH TACK ON ANOTHER BIG WIN

YOUNGSTOWN OH- Paige Ogden showed timely hitting on Friday, driving in six on three hits to lead Ursuline past Brookside 7-1 on Friday. Ogden drove in runs on a home run in the third and a grand slam in the sixth.

Ursuline secured the victory thanks to four runs in the sixth inning. They scored their runs on a grand slam by Ogden.

In the bottom of the first inning, the Irish tied things up at one when Alyssa Sheely hit a solo homer.

Ursuline pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Ogden homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Mia Opalick pitched the Irish to victory. The righthander surrendered one run on three hits over seven innings, striking out 12.

Ursuline launched three home runs on the day. Sheely put one out in the first inning. Ogden went for the long ball in the third and sixth innings.

The Irish racked up 13 hits in the game. Ogden, Opalick, Kyleigh Golden, Sheely, and Layni Bednar all collected multiple hits. Opalick and Ogden all had three hits to lead.

URSULINE PREVAILS IN BATTLE WITH TIGERS

WARREN OH- Both teams were strong on the pitcher’s mound Thursday, but Ursuline defeated Howland 3-1. Andrew Kirila allowed just five hits to the Tigers.

In the first inning, Ursuline got their offense started when Johnny Cambert drew a walk, scoring one run.

Kirila pitched the Irish to victory. The pitcher surrendered one run on five hits over seven innings, striking out five.

Anthony Massucci took the loss for Howland. The lefty lasted six innings, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out nine.

Dylan Casey led Ursuline with two hits in three at bats.

SHEELY’S BIG DAY LEADS IRISH PAST HOWLAND

WARREN OH- Alyssa Sheely had a busy day at the plate on Thursday, smacking four hits in Ursuline’s 13-7 victory over Howland. Sheely doubled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the fourth, and singled in the sixth.

Ursuline collected 18 hits and Howland had five in the high-scoring affair.

The Irish opened up scoring in the first inning. Paige Ogden singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.

Ursuline tallied six runs in the fourth inning. Their offense in the inning was led by Layni Bednar, Sheely, Kyleigh Golden, and Mia Opalick, who all drove in runs.

Howland scored three runs in the fourth inning. They scored their runs on a home run by Kayla Campbell.

Ogden led the Ursuline to victory on the rubber. The righthander surrendered three runs on one hit over four innings, striking out seven. Opalick threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Brooke Tatar took the loss for the Tigers. The righthander surrendered nine runs on 11 hits over four innings, striking out five and walking one.

The Irish socked one home run on the day. Opalick had a long ball in the fourth inning.

Ursuline racked up 18 hits in the game. Ogden, Sheely, Golden, and Opalick all managed multiple hits. Sheely and Ogden each collected four hits to lead.

Tatar led Howland Tigers with two hits in four at bats.

IRISH FEELING GOOD WITH SATURDAY SWEEP

RICHMOND OH- Ursuline got the most out of a beautiful Saturday for softball as they won 2 games in Edison. The first game was a 10-1 cruse control victory over Edison, the next was a 4-3 nail biter against Weir.

GAME 1:

Ursuline had no trouble on offense Saturday, winning big over Edison 10-1

Ursuline fired up the offense in the first inning, when Kyleigh Golden laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run.

The Irish tallied three runs in the seventh inning. Paige Ogden, Mia Opalick, and Gia Schiavone each drove in runs during the inning.

Opalick got the win for Ursuline. Opalick went seven innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out nine.

The Irish tallied two home runs on the day. Ogden went yard in the first inning. Ayva Fedor had a dinger in the second inning.

Ursuline tallied 13 hits in the game. Madelyn Miklandric, Ogden, Alyssa Sheely, and Opalick all had multiple hits. Miklandric led with three hits in three at bats.

GAME 2:

Ursuline took the lead late in the game in a 4-3 victory over Weir on Saturday. The game was tied at one with Ursuline batting in the top of the ninth when Katie Koulianos singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

The Irish knotted the game up at one in the top of the seventh inning. Liza Barbato grounded out, scoring one run.

Paige Ogden pitched Ursuline to victory. The pitcher went nine innings, allowing three runs on six hits, striking out ten and walking zero.

Ursuline racked up nine hits in the game. Kyleigh Golden and Layni Bednar each had multiple hits. Bednar and Golden each managed two hits to lead.

IRISH MAKE THINGS HARD ON HARDING

WARREN OH- Ursuline jumped out to an early lead over Harding and took home a 9-1 victory on Friday. Ursuline scored on a single by Gia Schiavone and a double by Alyssa Sheely in the second inning.

The Irish secured the victory thanks to six runs in the fourth inning. Their big inning was driven by singles by Madelyn Miklandric, Layni Bednar, Ayva Fedor, and Liza Barbato and a double by Katie Koulianos.

Ursuline pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Schiavone singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run and Sheely doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

The Irish scored six runs in the fourth inning. They put the pressure on, led by singles by Miklandric, Bednar, Fedor, and Barbato and a double by Koulianos.

Barbato got the win for Ursuline. Barbato went four innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out nine and walking zero. Kyleigh Golden threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Karly Trisler took the loss for Harding. Trisler surrendered nine runs on 13 hits over five innings, striking out two.

Ursuline collected 15 hits on the day. Koulianos, Golden, Miklandric, and Sheely each had multiple hits. Koulianos went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead in hits.

Trisler led Harding with two hits in two at bats. The Raiders didn’t commit a single error in the field. Vai Berry had the most chances in the field with seven.

WARRIORS WIN EIGHTH IN A ROW

BELOIT OH- Ursuline watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 4-0 loss to West Branch on Thursday. West Branch took the lead on a single in the first inning.

West Branch got things moving in the first inning. Hunter Shields singled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

One bright spot for Ursuline was a single by Joe Carosella in the first inning.

Beau Alazaus was credited with the victory for the Warriors. The righty surrendered zero runs on five hits over seven innings, striking out four.

Andrew Kirila took the loss for Ursuline. The lefty lasted five innings, allowing six hits and four runs while striking out two.

Carosella led the Irish with two hits in three at bats.

Nick Wilson went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead West Branch in hits.
