WARRIORS SECURE FIRST VICTORY

BROOKFIELD OH- Arianna Jones collected four hits in four at bats, as Brookfield defeated Memorial 13-5 on Monday. Jones doubled in the first inning, singled in the second inning, singled in the fifth inning, and singled in the fourth inning. Memorial were the first to get on the board in the first inning when Mileena Williams homered to left field, scoring three runs.

Brookfield tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a double by Cadence Huffman, a double by Jones, and a single by Madison Obermiyer. They then made the score 7-3 in the bottom of the second after Keilani Malufau singled, scoring one run, Jones singled, scoring one run, and Obermiyer doubled, scoring two runs. A ground out by Jasmine Hubbard extended the lead to 8-3 in the bottom of the third inning.

Obermiyer earned the win for the Warriors. She gave up seven hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out 11 and walking none. Ramani Adams took the loss for Memorial. The starting pitcher went six innings, giving up 13 runs (nine earned) on 16 hits, striking out six and walking none.

Brookfield amassed 16 hits in the game. Obermiyer provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led with four runs batted in. The pitcher went 3-for-4 on the day. Huffman, Malufau, and Hubbard each collected multiple hits.

Williams had a monster day at the plate, and led Memorial with four runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-3 on the day. Williams and Adams each collected two hits.
