WARRIORS SHINE BRIGHTEST ON RIVALRY NIGHT

BELOIT OH- The rainy weather couldn’t keep two bitter rivals from meeting up with each other on the softball diamond. West Branch and Salem would be a heated matchup even if they were playing checkers. Thursday night they met up and it was West Branch that had all the breaks going for them. The Warriors cruised to a 14-0 win.

Sydney Mercer led the offensive onslaught for the Warriors going 3-3 with a triple, a double, and a pair of RBI. Skyler Greeneisen was 2-2 with a home run and 3 RBI. Ryley Pittman also homered in the game going 1-2 with a RBI. Mari Hawk went 2-3 with a triple and a RBI. Morgan Loudon went 2-3 with a RBI.

Pittman took the win in the circle. She struck out 11 in 7 innings, and she only gave up 2 hits.

Chase Toy and Rylie Troy both got hits for Salem as a bright spot for the Quakers.

West Branch will start their time in the JoAnne Kernan Strikeout Cancer Tournament on Friday as they square off with Crestview on Friday at McCune Park. Salem will try and bounce back Saturday at Struthers.
