WEST BRANCH ANSWERS QUAKER RALLY TO HOLD ON

BELOIT OH- West Branch nabbed the lead late in the game in a 5-4 victory over Salem on Thursday. The game was tied at four with West Branch batting in the bottom of the sixth when Klary McKay singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

West Branch earned the victory despite allowing Salem to score four runs in the sixth inning. Salem batters contributing to the big inning included Bella Brant, Kylie Skimmer, and Sophie Maniscalco, all knocking in runs in the inning.

The Warriors got things moving in the first inning. Nicole Stoffer drew a walk, scoring one run.

McKay toed the rubber for West Branch. McKay lasted seven innings, allowing seven hits and four runs while striking out six.

Emilee Lewis led things off on the rubber for Salem. The bulldog surrendered five runs on seven hits over six innings, striking out seven.

Libbie Davis, Stoffer, McKay, Mikalyn Fitts, Mati Hawk, Josie Milliken, and Sara Schmidt each managed one hit to lead the way.

Salem totaled seven hits. Chase Toy and Mack Zumbar all had multiple hits for Salem.
