18U: HAVRILLA PITCHES GEM, ASTRO FALCONS TAKE BIG B TITLE

STRUTHERS, OH- Ricky Havrilla has had quite the week.  First, the Canfield grad committed to Tiffin University to continue his education and athletic careers as a Dragon.  Then, on Sunday night in Game 3 of the Class B Championship, Havrilla pitched a complete game to give his Astro Falcons an 8-2 victory, and the Class B Championship.

Havrilla gave up five hits, and only one earned run while striking out seven Creekside hitters.

Offensively, the Astro Falcons were led by Bryce Warwick’s two-hits.  Vince Armeni contributed a double, and Justin Miknis added a triple and two RBI.

Dylan Gurski had three hits and an RBI while Nathan Stutz contributed a double and a run batted in.  Kyle Weitzel added a triple and scored for Creekside.

This is the first Astro Falcon Class B Championship in five years, however, this is the fourth consecutive title for Manager Don Pletcher and his coaching staff.

Both teams will now prepare for the NABF World Series which kicks off Thursday on YSN.
