ASTRO FALCONS ADVANCE TO THE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

STRUTHERS OH- Astro Falcons defeated Avalanche, 12-1, in Game 3 of the 18U Semifinals Monday night to clinch a championship berth.

Astro came out of the gates swinging in the first inning and scored five runs, starting with an RBI triple from Ben Slanker that scored Astro’s first two runs. Astro would follow with a trio of RBIs from Joe Perry, AJ Capizzi, and Justin Weaver.

Astro picked up where they left off in the first inning, scoring two more runs in the second inning off RBIs from Jack Lutte and Jay Wrona to take a 7-0 lead.

Astro matched their impressive first inning in the fourth inning, scoring five more runs off an RBI double from Jack Lutte that brought home two runners, which was followed by a sac fly from Joe Perry to propel them to a 12-0 lead.

Zach Herb allowed zero runs and zero hits through 4.1 innings, until Drew Gault hit a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning to spoil the no-no bid.

Herb finished the inning, allowing one more hit, and picked up the win.

Astro Falcons will play  Knightline in the championship round in a best of 5 series.

ASTRO FALCONS HAVE NO TROUBLE IN SERIES OPENER

STRUTHERS, OHIO- In Game one of the 18U playoffs at Bob Cene Park, the Astro Falcons cruised past the Avalanche 10-0.

Joey Perry led the Falcons at the plate as he went 2 for 3 and score two runs. Justin weaver sent 1-3 on the day and tallied 3 RBI.  Jacob McGuire got himself a pair of RBI on a 1-2 day with a run scored.

Jake Bean picked up the win on the mound as he allowed zero runs, five hits, and sat down thirteen batters in a magnificent performance. 

A THRILLING CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES ENDS WITH AN ASTRO FALCON WIN

STRUTHERS OH- Astro tops Avalanche, 5-2, in Game 5 of the 14U championship and takes home the trophy.

Avalanche got out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning off of back-to-back RBIs from Jack White and Jared Bissell.

Jayden Amos cut the deficit to 2-1 for Astro in the bottom of the first before the game was postponed Thursday due to the weather.

The game continued Friday evening, and Astro tied the game in the third inning off an RBI single from Ben Oddis.

Astro dominated in the fifth inning thanks to a trio of RBIs from Kaden Reese, Jake Dovich, and Ben Oddis to take a 5-2 lead before cruising to the finish line in the final two innings.

Joey Gabriel, who originally played shortstop on Thursday, was called on to pitch for Astro on Friday when the game resumed and picked up the win on the mound, allowing 0 runs through the final six innings.

Noah Wilkerson, Brekken Hedderick, and Jack White left it all on the field for Avalanche, all recording two hits a piece.

ASTRO FALCONS ARE EASY LIKE A SUNDAY MORNING

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Astro Falcons had no problem against Ballistic Baseball as they picked up a 13-1 victory Sunday at Bob Cene Park.

Chandler Maurice led the Falcons at the plate going 3 for 3. The losing pitcher of the evening was Taggart Carfangia, who allowed nine runs on five hits with four strikeouts.

The winning pitcher of the evening was Carson Klase, who allowed one run on three hits with four strikeouts through five innings pitched. 

ASTRO FALCONS BLAST THEIR WAY PAST EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Astro Falcons had a good outing tonight at Bob Cene Park as they got the best of Eagle Wear by a score of 12-0.

The Falcons were led at the plate by Jack Lutte, who went 2 for 3, and knocked in 3 RBI.  Antonio Cordeiro continues an impressive summer and had a 2 for 4 day. He was able to collect a pair of RBI.

Luke McCoy was a master on the mound. He tossed a 5 inning no hitter in the run rule win. In his 5 innings he was able to strike out 11 and only walked 3.  

ASTRO FALCONS STAY ON TRACK

STRUTHERS, OHIO- The Astro Falcons had a good outing on the diamond Wednesday night at Bob Cene Park as they cruised past Creekside Fitness by a final score of 13-1.

The Falcons were led by Jack Lutte and Joey Perry, who both went 2 for 3 at the plate. The winning pitcher of the evening was Jake Bean, who allowed one run on four hits and also sat down ten batters at the plate. 

ASTRO FALCONS STAY IN THE DRIVER’S SEAT

STRUTHERS OH- Astro Falcons 18U team has been on a tear this season. They lead the standings by a wide margin. Despite Knightline’s best efforts on Monday night, that fact didn’t change in the slightest. The Falcons kept their undefeated record in tact with a 4-1 win.

Ben Slanker led the offense in production on the night going 1-2 with 2 RBI and a run scored.  Jay Wrona collected multiple hits going 2-3 with a RBI and a run scored.  AJ Capizzi was perfect at the plate going 2-2 with a walk and a RBI.

Kiajuan went 5 innings on the bump and only gave up 1 earned on 4 hits.  He finished with 8 strikeouts and just 1 walk.

Logan Cayavec got Knightline’s only RBI on a multiple hit effort 2-3 on the day.  Andrew Brown went 1-3 with a run scored.

ASTRO FALCONS KEEP UP THEIR STRENGTH

STRUTHERS OH- It’s been a typical dominant start  in Class B Baseball for the 18U Astro Falcons.  They continued to flex their muscles on Wednesday night as they cruised to a 8-3 win against Avalanche.

Jay Wrona put his name in the stat line quite a bit for the Falcons. He carried multiple hits in his total on a 2-4 day with 2 RBI.  Justin Weaver also a pair of RBI on a 1-4 day.  Jacob McGuire found his way on base every time he stepped to the plate. He went 1-1 with 3 walks and a RBI.

Luke McCoy did more than enough to get the win on the mound for the Falcons. He threw 5 innings and gave up 2 earned runs on 4 hits.  He was able to sit down 5 hitters.

Santino Piccirilli swung his way to a 1-3 day with a RBI.  Nolan Reichard did collect a RBI despite not collecting a hit.  Jacob Mattocks also went 1-3 on the day on the offensive side.

ASTRO FALCONS KEEP UP DOMINANT WAYS

STRUTHERS, OHIO- It was a run away victory for the Astro Falcons at Bob Cene park as they they took down Knightline 12-2.

Several players for the Falcons had one hit, but was Will Petty who led things at the plate as he went 2 for 3.

The winning pitcher of the night was Andrew Corfield, who allowed two hits, one run, and had one strikeout.

The losing pitcher for Knightline was Freddy Bolchalk, who allowed six hits, five runs, and had six strikeouts. 

ARMSTRONG READY FOR BASEBALL IN GEORGIA

SWAINSBORO GA- All summer long we have been dazzled by everyone on the Astro Falcons 18U roster. They truly were a team built for greatness. One of the key dogs in their winning machine was Tyler Armstrong.

Armstrong has lived and breathed baseball his whole life. Now as he graduates high school, the game that he has put so much into has given him the chance to live out a dream. To play baseball at the next level is something everyone in the sport dream about, but in reality, only 7% of players in the country get to experience. Armstrong is one of the 7%. He is signed to continue his baseball career in Georgia at East Georgia State College. He’ll be a Bobcat.

Armstrong bay .340 this Class B season in 20 games played for the Astro Falcons.  He hit 1 HR and knocked in 20 RBI.  His on base percentage was also at an impressive .420.
