BEAVER LOCAL PREPS TO DEFEND TITLES

Perfection is defined in the dictionary as the condition, state, or quality of being free as possible from all flaws or defects.  Someone forgot to tell Webster perfection could also be defined by watching the Beaver Local Golf team. The Beavers are coming off a 2020 campaign that saw them achieve an undefeated regular season, Buckeye 8 Conference Championship, and an OVAC Championship.

Flip the calendar to 2021, the Beavers are still undefeated and are full throttle ahead looking to repeat last year’s success.  The team currently sits in second place of the Buckeye 8 Conference Tournament after first-round play concluded on Friday.  The Beavers’ team total of 327 sits in second place behind leader St. Clairsville who shot 309 as a team.  Luke Eyster led the charge with a team-best 75.  The Beavers’ senior currently tied at the top of the individual leaderboard,  is also the reigning 2020 Buckeye 8 Tournament Medalist.  Skylar Pappas contributed with a solid 78 helping the Beavers solidify their status on the leaderboard.   Aiden Pilarcik and Mike McKenzie each carded 87 respectively for the Red and White.   The top 6 finishers of the second round will earn All Buckeye 8 First Team Honors which Beaver Local could stand to land multiple players.

The second-round action of the tournament is slated for Tuesday at Belmont Pines in St. Clairsville.  The Red and White will continue their pursuit of perfection later this week taking to their show across state lines visiting Oak Glen on Thursday.
