ALL THE WRIGHT STUFF; EAGLES NO-HIT NILES

HUBBARD, OH- It was a career night for Hubbard standout Tyler Wright  at the plate and on the bump as the Eagles shut out Niles commanding 8-0 win on Monday. Wright was a machine, racking up three singles through the third, fourth, and fifth innings.

But it wasn’t just his bat doing the talking—Wright dazzled on the mound, striking out 15 batters and throwing a no-hitter across seven innings, walking just two. A true one-man show!

The Eagles got their scoring started in the third when the lineup lit up. Braydon Songer and Wright kicked it off with singles, then the bases loaded up from a hit-by-pitch and a couple of walks. Mathew Bobovnik and Noah Adamson drew walks to bring runners home, and Jonny Adamson’s single capped off the rally.

Landon Turner took the loss, surrendering five hits and seven runs in just three innings, managing only a pair of strikeouts against three walks.

Hubbard’s lineup tallied 10 hits total, with Andrew Kali and Adamson also turning in multi-hit performances, ensuring the scoreboard kept ticking over. Defensively, the Eagles were flawless, not giving up a single error, while Johnny Reyes turned in a busy day with 15 fielding chances.

Over for Niles McKinley, their defense held tight without errors, and they managed to turn a smooth double play despite the pressure.

Next up, Hubbard hosts McKinley on Tuesday, wrapping up the season series against the Dragons.
