WELLSVILLE POWERS THEIR WAY AHEAD

NEW MIDDLETOWN OH- Wellsville softball unleashed a massive power show to defeat Springfield 23-10, punching their ticket to the next round of the tournament in style.

The game was an offensive showcase from the start, with Wellsville’s bats exploding for runs in nearly every inning. Amiyah Powell led the charge, going 3 for 5 with an impressive 5 RBIs and scoring 3 runs herself. Lillian Plumley was unstoppable at the plate, going a perfect 4 for 4 with 2 RBIs, a walk, and crossing the plate 5 times. MaKayla Landess also contributed with 2 hits, 2 RBIs, and a walk for Wellsville.

On the other side, Springfield’s offense put up a fight, with Gina Romeo leading the way with 4 RBIs. Olivia Allen added 2 RBIs and scored 2 runs, while Mariah Jones and Gracie Maldonado also contributed with 3 hits and 2 runs.

Wellsville will carry their momentum into the next round of the tournament, where they’ll look to continue their winning ways on the road against Mathews in the Sectional Final.
