WILMS THROWS NO-NO; QUAKER BATS BACK IT UP

MINERVA, OH- Gavin Wilms was brilliant on the hill on Wednesday, as Wilms threw a no-hitter to lead the Salem Quakers past Minerva 10-0.

Salem fired up the sticks in the first inning. The Quakers scored one run when Darius Beck singled.

Wilms got the no-doubt win for Salem as the righty surrendered zero runs on zero hits over five innings, striking out seven and walking zero.

Nick Lautzenheiser took the loss for Minerva. Lautzenheiser lasted three innings, allowing five hits and eight runs while striking out four.

Salem collected nine hits on the day. Beck, Carson Rhodes, and Lance Bailey all managed multiple hits for the Quakers. Rhodes and Beck each collected three hits to lead the team. Salem also didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jackson Johnson had the most chances in the field with six.
