AUSTINTOWN SETS UP WINNER TAKE ALL DISTRICT TITLE

BOARDMAN OH- Austintown’s 12U squad needed a win on Wednesday night to have a chance at winning a district title. They got the job done in decisive fashion and defeated Boardman 7-0 as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout.

Austintown secured the victory thanks to four runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught came from triples by Seneca Coates and Kate Averell.

A single by Taylor Watts in the first inning was a positive for Boardman .

Mila Hamley was in the pitcher’s circle to start the game for Austintown. She allowed one hit and zero runs over four innings, striking out eight.

Emma Davies toed the rubber for Boardman . She allowed five hits and six runs over three innings, striking out four. Addie Fiddler threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Annabel Mikesell went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Austintown in hits. Austintown didn’t commit a single error in the field.
