BLUE JAYS BLOW BY JFK

NORTH JACKSON OH- The Lady Jays were finally able to open their season tonight with a game against John F. Kennedy. The Jays contributed multiple hits and took advanatage of opportunities to earn the win 14-4.

The Eagles scored two in the first but the Lady Jays answered with three of their own. Chelsea Williams lead off with a bunt, beating the throw. She moved herself around the bases on passed balls while Kylie Wilson scored her earning an RBI. The Lady Jays scored two more in the first making the score 3-2.

The second inning was a big one for the girls where they batted around the order and scored 7 to make the score 10-2. The Eagles scored two in the 4th but the Lady Jays shut it down by scoring 4 more to make the score 14-4. The girls had three up, three down in the top of the 5th to earn the win.

Kylie Wilson, Emily Fultz, Riley Headley, Grace Johns, Macayle Thornhill, Paige Grope and Mia Greco all contributed hits. Chelsea Williams hit a shot off the fence and used her speed to earn herself an in-the-park homerun.

Macayle Thornhill was in the pitching circle tonight for all five innings giving up three hits, walking three and striking out five.

The Lady Jays will take on Crestview this Saturday April 2nd, time and site TBD.
