SUTTON OPENS SEASON WITH NO HITTER

Kaedyn Sutton was brilliant in the circle on Thursday, as she threw a no-hitter to lead Crestview past Newton Falls 1-0.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Sutton struck out 16, while Newton Falls sat down 11.

Sutton earned the victory on the rubber for Crestview. The fireballer lasted seven innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out 16.

Sophie Tvaroch took the loss for Newton Falls. The hurler went six innings, allowing one run on three hits and striking out 11.

Sutton, Brenna Figley, and Karsyn Moore each collected one hit to lead the Rebels.

Crestview is scheduled to travel to Boardman on Friday. Newton Falls hosts Sebring on Saturday. First pitch for that is a noon.
