CRESTVIEW FIRES UP THE OFFENSE FOR VICTORY

COLUMBIANA OH- Crestview delivered a dominant performance in their latest MVAC matchup on Thursday, overpowering Brookfield with a commanding 19-2 victory.

Crestview’s offense was firing on all cylinders, with Katie Lissi leading the charge, going 3-5 with 4 RBI and 3 runs scored. Emma Snyder and Sadie Halloran also had big games, driving in multiple runs and scoring runs themselves. Kerrigan Miller and Chloe Stoops added to the offensive onslaught, each contributing with hits, RBI, and runs scored.

In the circle, Kerrigan Miller was outstanding, pitching 5 innings of stellar ball, allowing just 3 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 7 batters.

KENNEDY BLANKS REBS

NILES, OH- Warren JFK steamrolled over Crestview with a whopping 13-0 win Thursday.

The action kicked off right away in the first inning. Dominic Ryan brought a runner home with a sacrifice fly, Michael Bartoe blasted a triple that scored two, and Trevin Rinck added a single that plated another, giving Kennedy a quick lead.

Ryan wasn’t done yet; he slapped another single in the second inning to stretch Kennedy’s lead to 6-0. The hits kept coming in the third, helped by a couple of Crestview errors that allowed three more runs, while Caleb Hadley doubled to bring in another.

On the mound, Freddy Bolchalk was untouchable, throwing a no-hitter through five innings, punching out seven, and walking just one. On the other side, Julian from Crestview had a rough day, surrendering six runs over two innings.

Ryan was a powerhouse in the middle of the lineup, driving in three runs and going 2-for-2 at the plate. Rinck also had a hot bat, picking up two hits. Nico Ciminero showed great patience, working two walks. Kennedy’s aggressive base running paid off too, swiping four bases, with Taggart Carfangia stealing two of those.

Kennedy’s defense was rock-solid, not committing a single error. Ryan, busy on both sides of the ball, led the team with seven fielding chances.

Looking ahead, Kennedy is set to face Rootstown on Monday while Crestview will face off with MVAC foe, LaBrae on Monday.

HUBBARD SNEAKS OUT OF PITCHER’S DUEL WITH THE REBELS

HUBBARD OH- In a pitchers’ duel on Wednesday, Hubbard edged out Crestview in a tight 3-1 battle, thanks to a crucial 2-run 4th inning.

Hubbard’s offense came alive when it mattered most, with Johnny Reyes driving in a run and Mathew Bobovnik adding an RBI as well. Gabe Rusnak and Geno Leshnack contributed with multiple hits, with Leshnack scoring a run.

On the mound, Jonny Adamson was outstanding for Hubbard, pitching a complete game with 7 innings, allowing 8 hits and no earned runs while striking out 8 batters.

Crestview’s offense managed to put up a fight, with Zach Davis driving in their only run. Max Hawkins and Isaac Unkefer each contributed with 2 hits for the Rebels.

Braden Devine pitched well for Crestview, going 6 innings, allowing 7 hits and 2 earned runs while striking out 2 batters.

In the end, Hubbard’s timely hitting and strong pitching performance from Adamson secured the victory in this tightly contested matchup, giving them the edge over Crestview.

G-MEN EARN BIG SWEEP OF CRESTVIEW

GARRETTSVILLE OH- Garfield completed their season sweep of Crestview on Tuesday with a hard-fought 5-3 win.

The Garfield offense showed up strong, led by Eric Geddes, who went 2-3 with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Aidan Hill also went 2-3 with an RBI, while Garrett Warnick and Jack Neikirk each contributed with a hit and an RBI.

On the mound, Geddes was outstanding, pitching a complete game, allowing 11 hits, 3 runs, and striking out an impressive 11 batters.

Crestview put up a fight, with Jayden Kimble reaching base twice with a hit, a walk, and driving in a run. Caden Booth and Max Hawkins also contributed with 2 hits each and an RBI.

On the pitching side for Crestview, Zach Davis pitched a solid 6 innings, allowing 5 hits, 2 earned runs, and striking out 5 batters.

However, it was Garfield’s day as they held on for the win, completing the season sweep over Crestview with another strong performance at the plate and on the mound.

GARFIELD SQUEEZES OUT A SEASON SPLIT WITH CRESTVIEW

GARRETTSVILLE OH- Garfield secured a thrilling victory over Crestview on Tuesday night, earning a split in the season series with a 5-4 win, thanks to a late surge of 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning.

Garfield’s offense showed grit and determination, with Olivia Zicari going 1-3 with 2 RBI and scoring a run, while Gabriel Groves contributed with a 1-3 performance, driving in a run and scoring one herself. Maddie Wilson added a hit and scored a run, and Juliana Genovese scored 2 runs on her 1-3 showing.

In the circle, Genovese pitched a complete game for Garfield, battling through 7 innings, allowing 11 hits, 3 earned runs, and striking out 5 batters to secure the win.

Crestview put up a fight, with Emma Snyder driving in 2 runs on her 1-4 performance, and Katie Lissi going 4-4 at the plate, scoring 3 runs. Sadie Halloran and Eme Cook also contributed to the offense with hits and runs scored.

CRESTVIEW WALKS OFF INTO A VICTORY

COLUMBIANA OH- In a thrilling matchup that kept fans on the edge of their seats, Crestview secured a dramatic walk-off victory over Campbell with an 8-7 win in extra innings on Friday night.

Crestview’s offense came through in the clutch, delivering key hits when it mattered most to secure the win. Sadie Halloran was the hero of the night, going 2-for-5 at the plate with two crucial RBIs, including the walk-off double that sent the home crowd into a frenzy. Eme Cook had a standout performance, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs and crossing the plate three times herself. Emma Snyder contributed to the offensive effort with a 3-for-4 performance, driving in one run and scoring another, while Kerrigan Miller added a 2-for-3 effort with an RBI and a run scored.

Despite falling short, Campbell’s offense put up a fight, with Angelis Espada leading the charge by going 1-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Savannah Cleland and Abby Broz each contributed an RBI for Campbell, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win.

CLIPPERS WIN RIVALRY RENEWAL

NILES OH- In a long-awaited rematch between Columbiana and Crestview, it was Columbiana who emerged victorious with a 3-0 win on Friday night, marking the first meeting between the two teams since 2017.

Columbiana’s offense came alive when it mattered most, securing the win with timely hitting and solid plate discipline. Anthony Hall led the charge, going 2-for-3 at the plate with two crucial RBIs to provide the offensive spark for Columbiana. Alex Eusebio also made significant contributions, going 1-for-2 with a walk, an RBI, and a run scored. Colin Keleman added to the offensive effort with a hit and two walks, helping to keep the pressure on Crestview’s pitching staff.

On the mound, Eusebio was nothing short of dominant for Columbiana, pitching a complete game shutout. Over seven innings of work, Eusebio allowed just five hits while striking out an impressive nine batters, keeping Crestview’s offense in check and preventing them from mounting any significant threats.

Crestview’s offense struggled to generate runs against Columbiana’s tough pitching, with Max Hawkins, Zach Davis, and Caden Booth each contributing a hit for the Rebels. However, they were unable to capitalize on their opportunities to score.

On the pitching side for Crestview, Luke Julian turned in a solid performance, going five innings and allowing only three hits while striking out five batters. Despite Julian’s efforts, Columbiana’s offense managed to break through and secure the win.

REBS KEEP SWINGING HOT BATS; TOAST FLASHES

WARREN, OH- On Tuesday, the Crestview put on a hitting clinic as they rolled past Champion with a decisive 13-3 victory, sparked by a massive seven-run outburst in the fourth inning. The Rebels’ lineup was on fire, turning walks and hits into a sizeable lead that Champion just couldn’t recover from.

The game got going in the first inning when Max Hawkins grounded out but still managed to push a run across for Crestview. Champion tied it up in the second inning, capitalizing on a Rebel error. However, Crestview didn’t let the tie last long. Ethan Feezle ripped a double in the third, driving in two runs to push Crestview ahead 3-1.

The real damage came in the fourth inning, though. The Rebels’ bats were relentless. Braden Devine and Josh Dragovich both walked with the bases loaded, each bringing in a run. Hawkins then added to the tally with a sacrifice fly. But the biggest hits came from Caden Booth, who doubled to bring in two more runs, and Jayden Kimble, who followed up with a two-run single.

On the mound, Zach Davis turned in a solid performance to earn the win, giving up just two runs (one earned) on six hits over five innings, striking out four. The pitching for Champion struggled to keep up, with their starter surrendering 10 runs (nine earned) before being pulled in the fourth.

Crestview was swinging well all game, tallying 13 hits. Drew Dattilio, Devine, Feezle, and Booth each picked up two hits. The lineup showed depth as Dattilio, Feezle, Booth, and Kimble all contributed two RBIs each, highlighting a balanced offensive attack.

For Champion, it was a tougher day at the plate, but Dylan Howell and Carter Boggs each managed to notch two hits. Shane Hixson added an RBI to try to keep things competitive.

The Rebels showed great discipline at the plate, working six walks throughout the game, which certainly helped build their rallies.

Next up, Crestview takes their hot bats on the road to face the Springfield Tigers on Wednesday, riding high from their explosive performance and looking to keep the momentum going.

CHAMPION’S MOMENTUM NOT SLOWING DOWN

WARREN OH- Champion scored 13 runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat Crestview 17-6 on Tuesday at Champion High School. Hailey Householder singled, scoring one run, Bella Weber singled, scoring three runs, Maddison Sylvester singled, scoring two runs, Gabrielle Gradishar tripled, scoring one run, Addison Warzala doubled, scoring one run, Isabella Meyer doubled, scoring one run, Sam Strock singled, scoring one run, one run scored on another play, Maylee Nadaud singled, scoring one run, and Sylvester singled, scoring one run.

Champion jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Meyer singled, scoring one run, and Strock hit a sacrifice fly, scoring two runs. Sadie Halloran hit a solo home run to left field in the top of the second for the Crestview. Gradishar answered and hit a solo home run to left field in the bottom of the second.

Crestview flipped the game on its head in the top of the third, scoring five runs on four hits to take a

6-4 lead. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Cook that drove in two.

Gradishar earned the win for the Golden Flashes. The righty allowed zero hits and zero runs over two innings, striking out three and walking none. Kerrigan Miller took the loss for Crestview. She went three innings, giving up 17 runs (14 earned) on 15 hits, striking out three and walking four. Strock stepped in the circle first for Champion. The right-handed pitcher allowed eight hits and six runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking none.

The Flashes piled up 17 hits in the game. Sylvester, the number nine hitter, led the way with three runs batted in. She went 2-for-3 on the day. Householder led with three hits in four at bats. Warzala, Gradishar, Strock, Meyer, and Nadaud each collected multiple hits. Meyer stole two bases. Champion turned one double play in the game.

FEEZLE SHINES AS REBELS TRUMP CHAMPION

COLUMBIANA, OH-In a MVAC thrilling showdown on Monday, the Crestview Rebels showcased their pitching talents and offensive firepower, securing a hard-fought 3-1 win over Champion.

Ethan Feezle’s standout performance on the mound, coupled with clutch hits from Drew Dattilio and others, propelled the Rebels to victory in a game marked by tense moments and standout plays.

Feezle took center stage as the starting pitcher for Crestview, delivering a masterful performance that left Champion batters struggling to find their rhythm. With an impressive 11 strikeouts over seven innings, Feezle showcased his command and control, surrendering just one run on five hits while issuing seven walks.

Both teams demonstrated strength on the mound, but Feezle ultimately proved to be the difference-maker for Crestview.

The Rebels wasted no time making their mark, as Feezle’s own single in the bottom of the first inning put Crestview on the scoreboard early. The momentum continued in the third inning, with Dattilio delivering a crucial single to extend the Rebels’ lead to 2-0.

Dattilio’s standout performance at the plate highlighted the depth of Crestview’s lineup, as he led the team with three hits in three at-bats. Luke Julian, Dattilio, and Feezle each contributed with an RBI, while Zach Davis collected two hits to bolster the Rebels’ offensive attack.

For Champion, Carson Fife got the nod to start the game on the bump and went the distance for the Flashes.  Fife’s impressive performance included giving up two earned runs on eight hits, walking one and striking out five Rebels.  Fife would also drive in the only run of the game offensively for Champion while putting together a two-hit performance.

As Crestview (7-0) looks ahead to their next matchup against Champion on Tuesday, April 16th, they will look to take a season series and continue a great start to the season.
