BROOKFIELD UPENDS LEOPARDS PERFECT SEASON

BROOKFIELD, OH – It was a tough game for Liberty on Thursday night as they traveled to Brookfield to take on their Mahoning Valley Conference rival. Liberty took round one earlier this year, 56-54. The Leopards were looking to keep their undefeated season going coming into Thursday’s matchup. But, Brookfield had other ideas for how they wanted the game to go. Brookfield came out strong early and did not look back in the first half as they went into the break with a 23-12 lead. Liberty came roaring back and fired off 34 points in the second half. The ultimate problem for the Leopards was foul trouble, as that eventually would catch up to them down the stretch and Brookfield, who had foul trouble for themselves, were able to hold on to give Liberty their first loss of the season with a 53-46 victory.

For Brookfield, Audrey Reardon led the way with 14 points. Behind her was Sophia Hook who finished with 13 points on the night.

For Liberty, Cianna Smith led the way with a game-high 18 points. Demi Watson added 9 on the night.

Brookfield will be back in action on Saturday as they host Newton Falls. Liberty will also be back in action at home on Saturday, as they will host Bristol. Don’t miss it on YSN!
