CANFIELD TAKES DOWN RIVAL ON BIG STAGE

STRUTHERS, OHIO- Jameson Beck shut down the Poland Bulldogs, throwing a complete game shutout and leading the Canfield Cardinals  to a 3-0 victory in the district semifinals on Monday.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Beck struck out six, while the Bulldog pitchers sat down four.

The Cardinals saw the ball well today, racking up ten hits in the game as AJ Havrilla, Ben Slanker, and Jack Davis all had multiple hits.

One bright spot for the Bulldogs was a single by Matt Paparodis in the first inning.

Beck earned the win for the Cardinals as the righthander allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out six.

Dominic Elia took the loss for the Bulldogs. Elia surrendered three runs on nine hits over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking one.

Canfield will now take on Mogadore Field to decide who will claim the Division II District Championship.
