PROSPECTS PUT DURA EDGE BATS ON ICE

STRUTHERS OH- Pitching was big time for the Prospects on Wednesday night in 18U Class B action. The Prospects kept Dura Edge off the board in an impressive 4-0 win.

Luca Bertolasio was the heavy hitter for the Prospects offense. He went 2-2 with a walk, and a RBI. Shane Cato went 1-2 with a RBI. Brandon Popio crossed the plate twice on the day going 1-2.

Austen Price had a strong performance on the mound going all 7 innings and shutting out Dura Edge on 2 hits.  Price struck out 15 and only walked 1.

Kyle Yost, and Gabe Faunda got the two hits for Dura Edge both going 1-2.  Braden Gebhardt walked once.,

 

Guy Young was given the loss on the hill for Dura Edge. He went 6 innings giving up 4 runs on 6 hits. He struck out 11.

EARLY RUNS ENOUGH FOR EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- Eagle Wear scored 4 runs in the first inning on Wednesday night in a matchup with Dura Edge. Even though their offense was shut out the rest of the way, 4 runs were plenty for Eagle Wear’s pitching as they won 4-1.

Teddy Ruffner led the production for Eagle Wear going 1-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI. Christian Zilli had multiple hits going 2-3 with a RBI. Steve Rohan went 1-2 adding a RBI.

James Campbell was able to pick up the win with dominant pitching. He went all 7 innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits. The run was unearned. He struck out 8 and walked 1.

Parker Lyons went 1-4 with Dura Edge’s only RBI of the day. Ethan Hanley went 1-3 with a run scored. Caleb Jones also took a 1-3 day.

Alex Rothwell took the loss on the hill. He went 4 innings giving up 4 runs on 6 hits. He struck out 6 and walked a pair.

FALCONS BLANK BALLISTIC

STRUTHERS OH- After throwing a no hitter on Monday, the Astro Falcons pitching staff in the 18U division kept rolling on Wednesday night shutting out Ballistic Baseball 6-0.

Chase Vrabel had multiple hits for the Falcons going 2-3 with a RBI. Aiden Kelly went 1-2 with a run scored and a pair of RBI. Jackson Hower also went 2-3 with a run scored, and he knocked in 2 RBI as well.

Tommy Beam was credited with the win on the mound. He went 6 innings giving up 0 runs on 3 hits. He struck out 12 without walking a single batter.

Although Ballistic’s hits were scarce, Koby Zupko went 1-2 on the day. Anthony Koulianos also had a 1-2 day at the plate.

Griffin Widrig was hit with the loss on the rubber for Ballistic. He went 4 innings and gave up 3 runs (none of them were earned) on 4 hits. He struck out 7 and walked 2.

ATHLETICS WINS IN EXTRAS OVER KNIGHTLINE

STRUTHERS OH- A winner needed extra innings to be decided on Wednesday night in 18U action between Knightline and Athletics. Both teams pitched well and the contest ended with Athletics winning 2-1.

Ethan Shaw had a nice day for Athletics going 1-2 with 2 walks, also scoring the only run of the day.  Nate Fleming collected the only RBI of the day for his team.

4 separate pitchers put in work on the day for Athletics. Fleming pitched 3 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits. He struck out 3.

Anthony Massucci went 2-4 for Knightline and was their only hitter to get multiple hits. Nick Jacob’s and Derrick Shields both went 1-4 RYAN Hopper collected the teams only RBI.

Madden Boehm picked up the loss for Knightline. He went 4.1 IP giving up 0 ER on 1 H. He struck out a pair.

 

PROSPECTS PUT WHITING OUT TO DRY

STRUTHERS OH- Prospects were able to make some waves on Wednesday night in 18U Class B action. They did away with Whiting Roll-Offs 7-2.

The Prospects bats were on a tear. Michael Galterio went 2-3 with a walk, a run scored, and a RBI. Tino Multari went 1-3 with a RBI. Brandon Popio went 2-4 with 2 runs scored.

Austen Price pitched well on the mound for Prospects. He went 5 innings giving up 2 runs on 5 hits. He struck out 7 and walked 4.

Matt Graeber had a nice day for Whiting despite their troubles. He went 2-3 with 2 RBI.  Benny Dottle went 1-3 with a walk.

Tim Lewis picked up the loss for Whiting. He gave up 5 runs on 5 hits in 5 innings pitched. He struck out 4 and walked 6.

PROSPECTS PITCH THEIR WAY TO VICTORY

STRUTHERS OH- The pitching in Monday nights 18U game between Prospects and Creekside was solid on both sides. The two teams combined for 3 runs on 9 hits. The Prospects came out on top 2-1.

Jeremy Kreuzwieser was a staple in the Prospects offense going 1-3 and driving in both RBI’s. Brandon Popio went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. Tino Multari went 1-2 with a walk.

Sully Brown pitched the gem on the bump for the Prospects. He went all 7 innings giving up 1 run on 4 hits. He struck out 10 and walked only 1. Clayton Bucher went 2-2 on the day for Creekside with a walk and a run scored. Peyton Zupko went 1-2 with a RBI.

Gage Gillott took the loss for Creekside. He went 4.2 IP giving up 2 runs on 5 hits. He struck out 8 and walked 4. 

QUICK START ENOUGH FOR EAGLE WEAR

STRUTHERS OH- Two first inning runs were all that Eagle Wear needed to grab a 2-0 win over Creekside on Monday night in 18U Class B action.

Teddy Ruffner was productive for Eagle Wear on the day. He went 1-3 with a RBI and a run scored.  Eli Harpalani went 1-2 with a walk and a run scored. Christian Zilli collected an RBI as well.

Zilli was electric on the hill for Eagle Wear. He went 6 innings and gave up 0 runs on 4 hits. He struck out 8 and walked 3.

Gage Gillott went 1-2 for Creekside. Clayton Blucher went 1-3. Brady Hansen also went 1-3 on the day.

Tyler Switalski took the loss despite throwing well on the hill. He went all 6 innings and gave up 2 runs on 2 hits. He struck out an eye popping 14 while only walking 2.

DURA EDGE DROPS THE HAMMER ON KNIGHTLINE

STRUTHERS OH- Dura Edge consistently put runs on the board Monday night in a duel with Knightline. After being held scoreless through 2, Dura Edge scored in 3 of the final four innings to win 7-3.

Zack Leonard swung well on the day and went 3-3 with a walk and a run scored. He also collected 2 RBI. Braden Gebhardt also got 2 RBI on the day going 1-2 with 2 walks. Kyle Yost went 2-3 with a walk and 2 runs scored.

Jake Corll picked up another win on the mound for Dura Edge. He threw all 7 innings and gave up 3 runs on 6 hits.  He struck out 8 and walked 2.

Vinny Sciortino went 1-3 with 2 RBI on the day. Anthony Massucci went 1-4 with a RBI. Mike Sciortino went 2-4.

Ryan Gibbons was charged with the loss on the hill for Knightline. He went 2 innings and gave up 4 runs on 7 hits. He struck out 4 and walked 1

PIRONE NO HITS WHITING

STRUTHERS OH- Brian Pirone was running on all cylinders on Monday as he tossed a no hitter against Whiting Roll-Offs. The Astro Falcons gave him plenty of run support as well as they won 5-0.

Pirone also had a fantastic day at the plate going 2-2 with 2 runs scored. He knocked in a RBI as well. Mike Carpenter went 1-2 with a RBI. Joe Roth went 1-3 with a RBI.

Pirone threw 7 innings of no hit ball. He struck out 11 and walked 4. He threw a total of 106 pitches.

Nick Vitale got on base twice for Whiting, he walked twice. Nick Osborne, and Luke Lamitina also walked once each.

Jake Vitale was pinned with the loss for Whiting. He went 5 innings giving up 5 runs on 4 hits. He struck out 6 and walked 3.

AVALANCHE STONEWALL BALLISTIC’S OFFENSE

STRUTHERS OH- The pitching on both sides of the Avalanche vs Ballistic 18U Class B game on Monday night was impressive. However, it was Avalanche that stood tall and finished the shut out Ballistic 2-0.

It was a 2 run 3rd inning for Avalanche that made the difference. Mason Jones went 2-3 with a RBI. Logan Ayres went 1-3 and a run scored, he also knocked in a RBI. Alarik Sierra went 1-2 with a run scored.

Jaret Boyer was lights out on the mound for Avalanche. He worked all 7 innings and gave up 0 runs on 4 hits. He struck out 8 and walked 2.

Anthony Koulianos went 1-2 for Ballistic, and so did Justin Fell, Dustin Horn, and Will Morrow. Isaac Schleich walked twice.

Morrow did not pitch badly for Ballistic. He took the tough luck loss. He went 7 innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits. He struck out 7 and walked 2.
