COLUMBIANA KEEPS THEIR MOMENTUM

COLUMBIANA OH- In a high-scoring clash, the Columbiana football team showcased their offensive firepower by securing a convincing 56-27 victory over Leetonia.

The first quarter witnessed Columbiana taking control early. Liam Surgenavic delivered a 40-yard touchdown pass to Dylan Bregar, with Aidan Radcliff adding the PAT, giving them a 7-0 lead. Leetonia responded with Tatum Finley’s 32-yard field goal, making it 7-3. Columbiana’s offense continued to shine as Liam Surgenavic connected with Parker Bush for a 25-yard touchdown pass, followed by Radcliff’s successful PAT, extending their lead to 14-3.

In the second quarter, Columbiana showed no signs of slowing down. Liam Surgenavic sprinted for an impressive 83-yard touchdown run, with Radcliff adding the PAT, increasing their lead to 21-3. Surgenavic then found Craig Witherow for a 10-yard touchdown pass, followed by another Radcliff PAT, pushing the score to 28-3. Hayes McCoy added a 1-yard touchdown run, with Radcliff’s PAT making it 35-3. The duo of McCoy and Witherow connected again, this time for a 30-yard touchdown pass, putting Columbiana comfortably ahead at 42-3.

The third quarter saw Surgenavic’s dominance continue, as he sprinted for a 27-yard touchdown run, followed by Radcliff’s PAT, further extending the lead to 49-3. Leetonia managed to put some points on the board with Carson Brock’s 10-yard touchdown pass to Tatum Finley, who then ran in the two-point conversion, making it 49-11.

In the fourth quarter, Leetonia made a late push with Carson Brock’s 40-yard touchdown pass to Ethan Mancuso, followed by Brock’s successful two-point conversion run, reducing the deficit to 49-19. However, Columbiana responded with an 11-yard touchdown run by Hayes McCoy, and Radcliff added the PAT, securing the final score at 56-19. Leetonia managed one more touchdown with Carson Brock connecting with Ethan Mancuso for a 40-yard pass, followed by a two-point conversion run by Tatum Finley, ending the game with a score of 56-27 in favor of Columbiana.
