DUKES DON’T HOLD UP TO LOUISVILLE’S STRENGTH

LOUISVILLE, OHIO- The Louisville Leopards weathered a scare by Marlington in the second inning where the Leopards coughed up three runs, the Leopards still won 9-4 on Monday.

Marlington took an early lead in the second inning when Caden Bates singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs, but the Leopards took the lead for good with eight runs in the third inning as Karson Siegfried singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run, Cole Miller singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run,

Zach Root singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run, Andrew Corona singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Charlie Roberts singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, and Connor Morley tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Bryce Graziani led things off on the mound for the Leopards as the pitcher surrendered four runs on five hits over four innings, striking out five.

Carter Difloure was on the pitcher’s mound for Marlington. The bulldog went two and a third innings, allowing seven runs on eight hits and striking out one. Drew Simmons threw three and two-thirds innings out of the bullpen.

Louisville will try to stay on the winning path when they travel on the road to take on Ellet on Tuesday.
