GARFIELD BRUSHES AWAY BROOKFIELD

GARRETTSVILLE, OH- The Garfield G-Men put on a show, cruising to a 7-1 victory over Brookfield on Tuesday, thanks to a big third inning and some solid pitching.

Eric Geddes got things rolling for Garfield in the first with a sacrifice fly to bring home the first run. But the real action heated up in the third inning when Geddes blasted a three-run homer to left field, really opening up the game. Alex Carter chipped in with another sacrifice fly that inning, padding the lead even further.

On the mound, Carter was in control from start to finish. He tossed a complete game, limiting Brookfield to just one run on four hits while striking out six and walking only one, earning himself the win. On the other side, Braydon DeMaria struggled to contain Garfield’s bats, surrendering seven runs over just under five innings and taking the loss.

At the plate, Geddes was the man of the hour for Garfield, driving in four runs and going 2-for-3. He and Aidan Hill, batting back-to-back, each notched two hits, really spearheading the offensive onslaught.

The G-Men weren’t just hitting; they were also tearing up the base paths, stealing a total of eight bases. Brandyn Bogucki and Leo Grandizio each swiped multiple bags, adding an extra layer of pressure to Brookfield’s defense.

Brandon Hardman tried to spark something for Brookfield, leading his team with two hits in three at-bats, but the effort wasn’t enough to rally his team.

Looking ahead, Brookfield hopes to bounce back in their next game against Lowellville on Thursday. Meanwhile, the G-Men will look to keep their momentum rolling as they continue to dominate both at the plate and on the mound.
