HOWLAND OUTLASTS BULLDOGS

Howland survived a scare by Lakeview in the fourth inning where Howland coughed up four runs, but they still won 9-6 on Wednesday. Lakeview offense in the inning was led by Gianna Caruso, Raegan Schick, Maggie Pavlansky, and Raegan Price, all knocking in runs in the inning.

The base paths were crowded in this high-scoring game. the Tigers collected ten hits and Lakeview had 11.

Howland opened up scoring in the first inning, when Alyssa Massucci homered on a 1-0 count, scoring three runs.

Howland pulled away for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Cloe Lopez hit a solo homer, Kayla Campbell homered on a 0-2 count, scoring two runs, and Madison Hufford hit a solo homer.

Alexia Spangler was the winning pitcher for Howland. The righthander went four innings, allowing four runs on six hits, striking out five and walking zero.

Ella Chadwick took the loss for Lakeview. Chadwick lasted one and one-third innings, allowing five hits and three runs while striking out one and walking zero.

Brooke Tatar started the game for Howland. The righty lasted three innings, allowing five hits and two runs while striking out four

The Tigers smacked five home runs on the day. Campbell had a dinger in the fourth inning. Lopez had a homer in the fourth inning. Massucci went deep in the first inning. Hufford went for the long ball in the fourth inning. Tatar put one out in the sixth inning.

Howland racked up ten hits on the day. Tatar and Campbell all had multiple hits. Tatar led Howland led the team with three hits in three at bats.

Lakeview racked up 11 hits. Caruso, Pavlansky, and Hallie Capan all managed multiple hits. Caruso went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead in hits.
