IRISH GO BACK TO BACK IN DISTRICTS

LEAVITTSBURG OH- All season Ursuline has been talking about how hungry they’ve been to get back to where they were last season. Well, on Thursday night they ate a fine meal. For the second straight season the Irish claimed the district championship beating Rootstown 7-0.

Alyssa Sheely shined as always in the lead off spot going 2-4 with 2 RBI.  Paige Ogden protected her going 1-3 with a walk and 2 runs scored.  Liza Barbato led the team in hits going 3-4 with a RBI and a run scored.  She also mashed her second home run in as many games.  Ayva Fedor also went yard gathering 2 RBI on the day.

Ogden was brilliant in the circle.  She went all 7 innings striking out 14. She only gave up 4 hits and also walked a pair.

Ursuline advances to the regional semifinals on Wednesday against Northwestern. They will play at Ravenna. The first pitch is slated for 4:00.
