JEFFERSON TAKES TWO FROM LAKESIDE

GAME 1:

Jefferson seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off fielder’s choice at the end of the game to topple Lakeside. The game was tied at one with the Falcons batting in the bottom of the seventh when Lakeside induced Colin Reid to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored.

The pitching was strong for Jefferson. Seve Cantini struck out 17.

Lakeside opened up scoring in the first inning, when Hodges doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.

Jefferson knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the fifth inning, when Reid grounded out, scoring one run.

Cantini took the win for Jefferson. Cantini lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and one run while striking out 17.

Wheelock took the loss for Lakeside. The bulldog went six and a third innings, allowing two runs on three hits and striking out three.

Jack Detweiler, Marc Wood, and Dylan Cotton each collected one hit to lead the Falcons.

GAME 2:

Jefferson jumped out to an early lead over Lakeside and took home a 9-3 victory on Saturday. The Falcons scored on a double by Kirkland Lambert and a single by Braydon Throop in the first inning.

Jefferson  tallied four runs in the fifth inning. The Falcons scored their runs on a single by Dylan Cotton.

Lambert was the winning pitcher for Jefferson. The hurler went two innings, allowing one run on one hit, striking out three and walking zero. Colin Reid, Throop, and PJ Modzelewski all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory.

Hodges took the loss for Lakeside. The bulldog lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and eight runs while striking out four and walking one.

Jefferson tallied ten hits. Seve Cantini and Throop each had multiple hits for Jefferson Area Falcon Varsity. Cantini went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead in hits.

Wheelock led Lakeside with three hits in four at bats.
