BULLDOGS HOLD OFF CHARDON RALLY

CHARDON OH- The Poland Bulldogs built a five-run lead in the fifth inning and then held off Chardon’s charge for a 7-5 victory on Saturday. Chardon managed three runs in the failed comeback. Nicole Krakora, Amy O’Brien, and Madison Hauser fueled the rally with RBIs.

Poland got things moving in the first inning, when Cameryn Lattanzio tripled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

The Bulldogs put up three runs in the fifth inning. The rally was led by a triple by Jackie Grisdale, a home run by Abby Farber, and a groundout by Lattanzio.

Katie McDonald earned the win for Poland. The righty lasted six innings, allowing eight hits and five runs while striking out three and walking zero.

Kayla Noerr took the loss for Chardon. The hurler went three and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs on three hits and striking out eight.

Poland socked two home runs on the day. Grisdale had a homer in the third inning. Farber went deep in the fifth inning.

Grisdale led the Bulldogs with three hits in three at bats.

Chardon tallied eight hits on the day. Hauser and Krakora each managed multiple hits for Chardon.
