JFK IS JUST TOO MUCH FOR ROCKETS

WARREN OH- There was a lot of talk coming into this game between the fourth seeded Warren JFK Eagles with a record of 14-8 led by head coach Jim Ciambotti and the Lowellville Rockets led by Dan Dougherty with a record of 4-15 here in the regional semis to take on either the winner of Fairport Harding or Lisbon.  Would JFK continue their hot streak or would Lowellville, the David against the Goliath come in and shock the valley with a win.

JFK got their first two run lead in the bottom of the second after a scoreless first inning. Junior Michael Mauro doubled on a hard ground ball to left fielder Luke Vanca, sending Caleb Hadley home along with Mauro after a Jaden Rishel single.

Lowellville fielding and pitching would keep them in the game only giving up another run in the bottom of the third when Hadley scored off of an error by Beeson.  The Rockets would be up next to bat again but nothing prevailed, but with how decent the fielding was, they could still have a defensive chance.

However, it was the Eagles who scored four and three more runs by Gavin Shrum, Santino Ciambotti, Cam Hollobaugh, Aiden Rossi and Michael Condoleon in the last bottom innings to force a mercy rule shut out 10-0 victory.

Dylan Okular took the loss for the Rockets allowing nine hits, and seven runs over four innings.  Evan Alfano led the team with one hit and two at bats.

Cam Hollobaugh took the win for the Eagles, getting a near no hitter with only one hit on five innings, striking out eight and walking one.

UP NEXT

Warren JFK (15-8) as the fourth seed will play the 10th seeded David Anderson Lisbon Blue Devils (14-11) in the Semis.  Lisbon is coming off of a nine to one victory against Fairport Harbor Harding.

Lowellville finishes their season with a record of four and 16 and will look to get ready for a big run next season, especially with most of their players coming back.
