KIRCHNER SHINES IN ONE-HITTER AS IRISH ROLL

STRUTHERS, OH- Jonah Kirchner didn’t allow a single run and only one hit against Canton Central Catholic, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Ursuline to a 7-0 victory on Saturday.  This would be the first loss of the season for CCC.

The Ursuline Fighting Irish secured the victory thanks to six runs in the first inning. Ursuline’s big bats were led by Dante WalkerKirchnerIan BartonJoey Carosella, and Luca Ricchiuti, all driving in runs in the frame.

The Irish got things moving in the first inning. Walker drove in one when he singled.

One bright spot for Canton Central Catholic was a single by Harris in the seventh inning.

Kirchner was the winning pitcher for Ursuline. The righty allowed one hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out three.

Black took the loss for Canton Central Catholic. The bulldog allowed three hits and six runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one.

BartonBrady ShannonWalkerRicchiuti, and Kirchner each collected one hit to lead Ursuline offensively.
