LATE SURGE HELPS RAIDERS SWEEP HUBBARD

HUBBARD, Ohio

Five hard fought innings of backandforth action between the Hubbard Lady Eagles (7-6) and the South Range Raiders (13-3) had the two conference foes primed for an entertaining finish.Unfortunately for the common fan, the Raiders had no intentions on keeping it close.

The top of the 6th inning was when South Rangewould make their mark on this matchup, scoring 4 runs before they even recorded their first out of the inning. Continuing their run, South Range’sJuli Stachowicz would hit an RBI double to left field and would later come across to score thanks to a single by Kelly Szolek, capping their 6-runinning.

Down but not out, the Lady Eagles tried their best to claw back into the game. Hubbard would score 1 in the bottom in the 6th as well as another in the bottom of the 7th but still would fall short, 8-5.
