LOCAL ATHLETES TAKE AIM AT STATE

By Chris Sigler

All eyes are on Columbus this weekend as some of the best athletes Ohio has to offer will be converging on the state capital. The OHSAA 2023 State Track and Field Championships are set to take place June 2nd & 3rd at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on the campus of The Ohio State University. The two-day event is annually one of the most anticipated events of the academic year and 2023 is shaping up to be no different. Over 2200 athletes from across the Buckeye State will chase their dream to earn their spot on the podium and cement their legacy just as the legendary Jesse Owens once did. The YSN community will once again be heavily represented this weekend in Columbus. 137 athletes representing 34 schools will take their best shot at glory, looking to come home with the precious hardware around their necks. Those schools sending athletes to compete are:

Archbishop Hoban, Austintown Fitch, Badger, Beaver Local, Boardman, Brookfield, Campbell, Canfield, Cardinal Mooney, Champion, Columbiana, East Liverpool, East Palestine, Edgewood, Garrettsville Garfield, Girard, Heartland Christian, Howland, Labrae, Lakeview, Liberty, Louisville, Lowellville, McDonald, Orange, Salem, South Range, Southern, Springfield, United, Warren JFK, West Branch, Windham and Valley Christian.
The action gets underway on Friday, June 2 at 9:30am. For a complete listing of the events/times as well as heat/flight assignments use the links below.
