MOHAWK GETS FIRST WIN UNDER THEIR BELT

Addy Moskal collected three hits in four at bats, as Mohawk defeated Sharpsville Varsity Blue Devils 7-2 on Wednesday. Moskal singled in the sixth inning, doubled in the fifth inning, and singled in the third inning.

Sharpsville  were the first to get on the board in the first when Lily Palko hit a solo home run to right field. Izzie Candiotti hit a solo home run to center field in the top of the third for the Blue Devils.

The Warriors tied the game up in the bottom of the fourth thanks to two singles. They tied the game at two on a single by GiGi Cowher.

Mohawk took the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Aricka Young doubled, scoring one run, to give Mohawk Area Varsity Warriors the edge, 3-2.

Reagan Magno earned the win for Mohawk. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out seven and walking three. Jordan Brest took the loss for Sharpsville. She went six innings, surrendering seven runs on 10 hits, striking out one and walking four.

Mohawk piled up 10 hits in the game. Moskal and Young were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected three hits  while hitting back-to-back. The Warriors were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Mylie Pistorius made the most plays with seven.

Palko and Candiotti were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Sharpsville Varsity Blue Devils. Palko, Candiotti, and Brest each collected one hit for Sharpsville Varsity Blue Devils. Sharpsville Varsity Blue Devils didn’t commit a single error in the field. Haley White had the most chances in the field with six.
