MUSTANGS WIN CLOSE BATTLE WITH HUSKIES

Orwell, OH- In a tightly contested matchup on Monday, the Grand Valley Mustangs managed to edge out the Cardinal Huskies with a final score of 2-1. The game showcased impressive pitching performances from both teams.

The action heated up in the top of the fourth inning when Cardinal Huskies’ Logan Strever smashed a double, putting his team on the scoreboard and giving them an early lead.

However, the Grand Valley Mustangs quickly turned the tide in the bottom of the fourth, capitalizing on two errors from the Cardinal defense to take a 2-1 lead.

Pitcher Eric Ellsworth played a crucial role in securing the win for the Mustangs, going the distance with an outstanding 21 outs recorded. Ellsworth allowed just one run on six hits over seven innings, striking out eight batters and issuing no walks.

At the plate, Aidan Baker led the offensive charge for the Grand Valley Mustangs, collecting one hit in three at-bats. Meanwhile, Strever stood out for the Cardinal Huskies, going 2-for-3 with a crucial RBI.
