ONE BIG AVALANCHE INNING MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE

STRUTHERS OH- Friday night at Bob Cene Park, Avalanche’s 18U squad used a big 4-run third inning to secure a 5-2 win over Dura Edge in Class B action.

Avalanche’s bats came alive in the third. Jason Malley went 1-for-2 with an RBI and drew two walks. Carter DeJulia and Drew Gault each picked up an RBI and a walk, while Jack Strausser chipped in with a 1-for-4 night and scored a run.

On the mound, Strausser was a force, pitching 6 innings, giving up 2 runs on 5 hits, and striking out 7.

For Dura Edge, Andrew Porto went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Blake Jeffries added an RBI and a walk, while Tanner Stricko had a standout night, going 3-for-4 and scoring twice. Drew Kockler chipped in with a hit as well.
