ORANGE LANDS HUGE UPSET ON THE ROAD

WILLOUGHBY, OH-

The Orange Girls basketball team took the short trip to Cornerstone Christian on Friday night.  Cornerstone Christian, who entered the game with a 10-2 record, fell to the Lions 57-43.  Rachel Oberster led the Lions with 28 points.

The Lions got off to a great start.  They outscored Cornerstone Christian 36-13 in the first half.  The Lion’s defense held Cornerstone to only 2 points in the 2nd quarter.  Oberster scored 18 of her 28 in the first half.

In the third quarter, the Lions were able to extend their lead to 26 points.  Alayeh Washington and Kynnade Bates each added 8 points for the Lions in the win.  The Lions will open 2023 on Tuesday when they host rival Beachwood on Tuesday night.
