POLAND ENDS THE YEAR THE RIGHT WAY

POLAND OH- In their last game before we bring in the new year, Poland earned a hard fought win over Boardman 44-35.

It was a night where both teams were down a handful of players. That being said, both teams showed tremendous effort and had new names step up off the bench. Poland led the entire game, but Boardman never let the game get out of hand. Every time the Bulldogs would go up by 10 or 12, the Spartans would manage to get it back down to two possessions. On the other end, every time the game got close, Poland would get a big shot by a different player. First it was Abby Farber, then Sarah Forsythe, then Connie Cougras.

Cougras led the Bulldogs with 12 points on the night. Morgan Kluchar was also in double figures with 10 points. Abby Farber, and Katie McDonald both finished with a solid 7 points.

The Spartans were led by Mackenzie Riccitelli with 12 points. Bella Martin had a big second half finishing with 8 points. Emma Mills finished with 7.

Poland returns to action on Monday January 3rd at home against Lakeview. Boardman also will wait until the new year as they get back to it Wednesday January 5th against Canfield.
