RAIDERS GET THE EDGE ON WEST BRANCH

Saturday’s game against South Range was a heartbreaker for West Branch, as they lost the lead late in a 4-3 defeat. The game was tied at two with South Range batting in the bottom of the sixth when Michael Markulin singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

South Range got on the board in the second inning when Corey Penick doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

West Branch knotted the game up at two in the top of the fifth inning.

Tyson Tarajack took the win for South Range. The ace went three innings, allowing one run on two hits, striking out two and walking one.

Garrison Martin took the loss for the Warriors. The righty lasted five and a third innings, allowing nine hits and four runs while striking out one.

West Branch tallied six hits in the game. Aaron Tucker and Christian Starcher all collected multiple hits. Starcher and Tucker each managed two hits to lead.

South Range racked up 11 hits in the game. Penick, Logan Cormell, and Markulin all managed multiple hits. Penick went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Raiders in hits.
