RAMS PUSH THEIR WAY TO THE TITLE GAME

NILES OH- On a day where pitching ruled, Mineral Ridge shut down Jackson-Milton 3-0 in the district semifinals. Xavier Klamer wasn’t just good, he was lights-out for Mineral Ridge, tossing the complete game and nabbing every out himself—a total gem from the mound.

The action heated up in the fifth inning when Klamer himself smacked a double to drive in the first run of the game. That hit wasn’t just big; it was the game-changer, as Klamer then locked down Jackson-Milton the rest of the way.

Klamer’s line for the day was stellar: three hits allowed, zero runs, eight strikeouts, and while he did walk seven, he kept his cool when it counted. On the flip side, Drew Sloan battled hard for Jackson-Milton, working five innings and giving up three runs on seven hits while matching Klamer’s eight strikeouts.

At the plate, Jackson Geddes was the standout hitter for Mineral Ridge, going 2-for-3 and setting the tone. Klamer and Jack Gillie each knocked in a run, contributing to the team’s win.

Jackson-Milton did manage to get some traffic on the bases, with Jaidyn Henry, Cayden Mitchell, and Landon Workman each picking up a hit, and the team earning seven walks throughout the game, showing some patience and resilience.

With this win, Mineral Ridge is all set for a showdown in the district championship against Warren JFK, happening Thursday at Niles at 5:00 PM.
