SIX YEARS OF NE8 PLAY, SIX POLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS

POLAND OH- In a fitting conclusion to their regular season, Poland’s senior night celebration was filled with jubilation as they clinched their sixth consecutive NE8 championship and their seventh straight league championship overall (AAC title in 2017). Facing off against Hubbard, Poland delivered a commanding performance, emerging victorious with a final score of 40-26.

Leading the charge for Poland was senior standout Elliana Thompson, who showcased her scoring prowess with an impressive 16 points. While Thompson led the scoring charge, Poland’s victory was a testament to the team’s collective effort, with seven other Bulldogs contributing 4 points or less to secure the win.

Despite Hubbard’s valiant effort, led by Cara Green with 9 points and Khamyah Howell with 6 points, they couldn’t overcome Poland’s dominance on the court.

With this win, Poland capped off their regular season in style, finishing with a record of 14-8 and solidifying their status as NE8 champions outright. Their remarkable consistency is highlighted by the fact that they have only shared the NE8 championship once in the six years of the conference.

Looking ahead, Poland sets their sights on the upcoming tournament, with their first game scheduled for Saturday, February 24th at Pymatuning Valley.

Meanwhile, Hubbard, with a record of 6-15, prepares for their final regular-season game on Thursday as they host Mooney.
