WATTS MAKES FITCH ELECTRIC

AUSTINTOWN OH-  “The Freshman Phenom”, “Maximum Wattage”, “The Amplifier” and of course “The Untouchable.” These are some of the nicknames that Fitch Falcons freshman superstar Sydnie Watts have gained over the course of her first season.

How can you not? Surpassing the 200 strikeout mark in the season, while simultaneously keeping her Earned Run Average (ERA) under 1! Pair that with the fact that she is a serious threat in The Fitch lineup. Typically batting cleanup, she has hit over .500 on the season, while slugging a half a dozen home runs! Her season totals are at the top of her team in multiple categories. Those include batting average (2nd), home runs (1st), runs batted in (2nd), hits (2nd) and slugging percentage (1st).

The legend of Sydnie Watts continues to build, with her potential limitless, I guess it would be safe to say that the maximum wattage on this one is unlimited! Aside from the incredible statline, Watts has an incredible personality that fits like a glove with this group of Falcons softball stars! Drawing inspiration from the senior leaders and upperclassmen of this team such as Maddy Taylor, Kayla Schubert and McKenna Hogan. Watts has continued to learn and grow in just her first season.

This is one that you CANNOT miss! As The Running Point crew get The Player Profile debut of Sydnie Watts!

A FALCON BUILT FOR GREATNESS

AUSTINTOWN OH- Caitlin Mitchell is part of a Fitch softball team that just feels special this season. She knew it as soon as she looked at the roster coming in to the season, and so did all of her teammates. When that realization hits, the only thing that can cross a person’s mind is “what do I need to do to make this happen?” And that is exactly the mindset that Mitchell has brought to the table this season.

Mitchell is the definition of a team player. She is always willing to do whatever the team needs her to do to win games. Whether they need her to make stunning defense, or they need her bat to produce some offense. She’s up for the task. She also sacrifices a ton to make her teammates better. A lot of players on other teams that are this good might struggle with ego, and wanting to be “the one” that makes the team special. Mitchell does not have that issue. She has completely put herself and her personal accolades below the team goals. This is also something that has spread to the whole roster at Fitch, which is another reason why they are making so much noise this year.

Mitchell took the time to join YSN’s Running Point this week to talk about her season. She talks with Anthony Hartwig, and Ty Bartell about the mindset of this team, some of the best memories she has on the team, and much more. Check out the latest Fitch softball player profile on YSN.
